Andy April 06, 2014 for Model Number DU1055XTSS3 Whirlpool dishwasher two problems with my dishwasher: 1) the lock of the soap dispenser is broken, now can not lock the dispenser after filling detergent. 2) the washing cycle stopped in the middle, and "normal" light starts to blink, constant and fast. the suggested solutions are to replace the dispense assembly (part number AP4429311) and the control panel (part number AP3951372). Now my question is I do not have experience fixing appliances. Do you have step-by-step procedure I could follow to replace the 2 parts? Thanks,
1 Answer Andy, We do not have printed information on replacing the control panel and the dispenser but it is relatively easy to do. To access both components you will remove the screws for the inner door and lift the inner door up. For the dispenser there will be 4 screws in the back of the door holding in the dispenser assembly. Remove the screws and disconnect the wiring. For the control panel you will need to remove the components of the control panel and install on the new one. Read More...

Chris October 15, 2013 for Model Number Whirlpool model #3385820 I purchased a dishwasher detergent model #W10224428 and it is identical to the old one except for the terminals on the solenoid. The old one has two terminals and the new one seems to have only one.
1 Answer Chris, Without a correct and complete model number it's a bit difficult to verify proper parts and wiring to or for a component. In general, If the new part is " it is identical to the old one except for the terminals on the solenoid. The old one has two terminals and the new one seems to have only one". Then the new part is defective. The solenoid needs to have two terminals in order to complete the circuit, and operate. You'll need to contact the APP Customer Service Team (1-877-477-7278) and make arrangements for a new replacement dispenser and return the defective part. Read More...
1 Answer Hello Gus. Check the setting inside the rinse aid dispenser and see if it is turned to the center. If not, and it is down on the lowest setting, it will not use much rinse aid. If it is set right, replace the dispenser WPW10224428 on the unit. Read More...
Don April 20, 2013 for Model Number kenmore dishwasher 665-16362301 I purchased a W10224428 for a soap rinse dispenser for my 2005 kenmore dishwasher but the wire clips on the replacement unit appear to be a large molded clip not two separate flat clips (blue wire and blue c/w black strip wire). is there a way to modify existing clips to work with new dishawsher dispenser module switch? Does the blue wire c/w black stripe go against the terminal closest to dishwasher door wall?
1 Answer Hello Don, This is not a polorized connection so you cannot hook it up wrong. You can cut the ends off and crimp on new spade connectors to connect it. Read More...
