The Dome and Blade Assembly is an OEM part for Whirlpool blenders. This assembly includes both the dome cover and the blade, which work together to blend ingredients efficiently. The dome ensures that contents are contained within the blender jar while the blade chops, purees, and mixes the ingredients to the desired consistency.

Causes of a bad dome and blade assembly can include wear and tear from regular use, damage from blending hard or frozen items, or corrosion and dulling of the blade over time. These issues can lead to decreased performance and the potential for leaks.

Symptoms of a bad dome and blade assembly include:

  • Reduced blending efficiency or inconsistent results
  • Leaks from the base of the blender jar
  • Unusual noises during operation
  • Visible damage or dullness of the blade

This OEM part is also compatible with Maytag, KitchenAid, Jenn-Air, Amana, Magic Chef, Admiral, Norge, Roper, and Kenmore models.

Hello Jeannine! The Kitchenaid model RMSB5 is not valid. Kitchenaid models should start with KSB- the model given seems to be a refurbished model number. Please double check the model number and resubmit. At times, if you peel back the model number sticker plate the Kitchenaid model number plate will be there. Thanks.

Stan, When the jar and blade assembly is assembled, yes the blade will be able to spin freely. Once you attach the jar assembly to the blender base, there will be some resistance, if you try and turn the blade. As for the rubber being eaten or melted, are you discussing the drive coupling WP9704230 on the base, or the seal for the dome/chopper WP9704204. Either way, that would indicate the chopper assembly is being jammed or overloaded, Good Luck and Thanks

Peter G for Model Number KSB5GN3

Hello, On my KitchenAid Blender (model# - KSB5GN3)On the dome/blade, upper coupling, the blades & coupling key on the bottom are spinning separately. I can only surmise that the shaft in between them has snapped. Doesn't seem to be a way that I can see to maybe disassemble it and replace the shaft. I'm guessing that I'll just have to replace the whole assembly, which is no problem. Am I right? If you have any suggestions for me, I would be most grateful. Thanks in advance, Peter G

Hello Peter. From what your describing, you will need to replace the assembly. They do not offer just the shaft. Hope this helps.
