Should the blade be sharp? I could not cut my finger if I tried to on my blade, except maybe in the tiny notches. Does this mean I need a new one?

It seems I need to replace my dome/blade assembly on a Kitchen Aid blender. I have most of the model number, but not all of it. Here is what I have: RRKSB5 W then the label is missing. I have the screw on lid. In buying the dome/blade assembly and I see some models say NOT for screw on lid. Please advise what the correct assembly unit would be for my model? Thanks, Jeff

I purchased the dome and blade assembly (AP3085609 9704291) as the blade was spinning freely. In installing this and operating the blender, the underside of the blade snapped off some of the teeth on the black rubber gear. Upon further inspection, this does not appear to be the correct part for this blender, however this was the part that was shown via a search for KSB5BU on your site. Please advise.

Hello Mark. WP9704291 is the correct dome and blade assembly. As for the part under the unit, it sounds like the coupler WP9704230 is bad and will need to be replaced.

My blender is leaking around the base. The blades seem and work fine. I need a new sealing gasket which is 2.1/2 inch inner diameter and 3 1/2 inch outer diamer (the size of existing sealing gasket). Do you have a gasket only, or do I have to buy the whole assembly (and is this the right assembly?)?

Emily, The part number for the seal is 3184397 and unfortunately has been discontinued by the manufacturer with not suitable replacement available. The jar assembly for this model also was not made as a kit.

I need to replace the blade in my Kitchenaid 5KSB52BGR4 and was wondering which part is required? In addition, as the original blade does not detach from the glass jug, how do you remove the old blade and install the new one?

Hello Zed, You will need to order part number WP9707580. As you can see from the parts explosion, This assembly will come out after unscrewing the bottom from the blender jar.

Hello Appliance Parts Pros: I ordered the new blade and gasket component for my KitchenAide blender. The new blades are very helpful. BUT my blender still leaks when I use it. I have attached a picture of this, taken from the underneath side of the blender container, looking at the blade mechanism from the underneath. I think you can see from the picture that it still seeps fluid out through this component — I believe it is coming around the gasket. I have tried swapping out the new rubber gasket with my previous gasket, and have the same problem. Before ordering this part I read online comments about other people having a similar problem. I had originally thought that the liquid was seeping from the base of the blades, but I now am convinced that is not the problem. Do you have a suggestion for me? I am tightening the white base onto the glass contain as tightly as I can.
