The Broken Tab Ice Door Kit is an OEM part for Whirlpool refrigerators. This kit includes all the necessary components to repair or replace the ice door chute, which is responsible for dispensing ice from the ice maker to the ice bucket or directly to the user. The ice door chute must seal properly to prevent warm air from entering the freezer compartment, which can lead to frost and ice buildup.

Symptoms of a failing or broken ice door chute include:

  • Ice accumulating around the ice dispenser chute
  • Frost buildup in the freezer compartment
  • Warm air leaking into the freezer, causing temperature fluctuations
  • The ice door not closing properly or becoming stuck
  • Unusual noises from the ice dispenser area

Causes of a broken ice door chute can include regular wear and tear, physical damage from mishandling or excessive force, or deterioration of the sealing components over time.

This OEM part is also compatible with some models from Maytag, KitchenAid, Jenn-Air, Amana, Magic Chef, Admiral, Norge, Roper, and Kenmore.

This kit is used if the ice door mounting tabs are broken off of the dispenser wall. If your model number uses this ice door WP2180353 or this ice door kit W10823377 this kit can be used.

Chris for Model Number GC3SHAXVS03

Your part AP3872692 is what I need to replace a broken tab in the main housing. The video which is of a different front panel is for a frig that only has 2 tabs and the pin is held in by a tinnerman clip. The instructions state to keep this clip to be reused to hold the new pin. My frig has 3 tabs, the pin (looks like a nail) goes through a hole in 1 tab and then the side of the pin that has the head on it snaps down into a notch on the 2nd tab and then there is a 3rd tab right next to the head of the pin so that if it start to move to the right it bumps up against the 3rd tab to keep it in place. I would guess I'd need to break off all 3 tabs but then it won't stay in place without the clip. How do I get the clip or is there another way to hold it in place?

Sharon, Unfortunately No, there is no " whole kit you could just pop in the door.". If you can get a complete model number, repost your question and include an e mail address, we'll be more than happy to research and advise you of the parts needed to restore your refrigerator dispenser assembly. Thanks,
