Al November 14, 2020 for Model Number Ned4705wo Dryer has a high pitched noise sometimes .one roller spins fine the other spins hard can i grease it or do i have to Ireplace it
1 Answer Al, The model number you supplied is incorrect or incomplete. Please recheck and verify the complete model number from the production tag on the dryer. If your dryer does use the LA-1008 roller kit, the left side roller doesn't move as freely as the right side roller, this is "normal" you do want to remove the roller, check the shaft for damage or distress, clean off the shafts with a clean rag and apply a drop or two of turbine oil to the roller/shaft. then check the idler pulley and shaft, and repeat the process. Harry February 21, 2020 for Model Number pye4557ayw the motor quite in my dryer. You sent me a replacement I installed per the video. When I start the dryer the drum turns but very slowly and the belt appears to be slipping. It never slipped before
1 Answer Hello Harry, check if the belt is reversed, the belt grooves should be contacting the drum and in the drive motor pulley, check the front glide pads have not slipped off and rear rollers are not binding and the idler arm is in position. Read More...
Ben April 02, 2018 for Model Number ade3lrgs171tw01 I took apart my dryer to replace the felt seals and found that one of the drum support rollers was completely worn and had fallen off. I can't find a new roller on your website. Is it possible that I could buy the whole kit with the new axles and replace the old ones? or would that not work?
Clarke March 02, 2016 for Model Number PGY2300AWW The only way that I can get the dryer to work is to push the knob to start the dryer while I spin the drum by hand. Do I have to replace the entire motor or is there another part that I need to replace?
1 Answer Hello Clarke. Based on the information you provided, you will need to order and replace the motor on the unit. Read More...
Seth November 04, 2015 for Model Number LSE9904ACE After hearing grinding, I found the left drum support roller (and its axle) lying on the floor inside my dryer unit. There is now a large hole (about the same diameter as the axle) in the support bracket where the axle was originally attached with a nut. The support bracket is part of the dryer housing. It appears that the bracket’s metal had stress fractured around the axle nut after many years of vibration. So, I now have no way of attaching an axle to the bracket. I was thinking of using two large washers to cover both sides of the hole and then just re-installing a new axle. Alternatively, I could insert a newer type axle/bracket (part 53-0197) through the hole and machine screw it on to the housing bracket. But I’m not sure these would either align or hold up well. Do you have a good repair solution?
1 Answer Seth, The most viable option on the roller shaft being put back on would be to use 2 large washers and install it that way. The drilling a new style shaft on would not be a very viable option. Read More...
Ben E February 04, 2014 for Model Number pye3300ayw Hi- Do I have a front roller kit on my dryer? I only see a rear roller kit and that's what I was going to order. My dryer is screeching and squealing when running. It isn't the motor either. I already tore it apart and checked. I greased the rear drum rollers but now after a few cycles it is making the same noise again.
Andy November 04, 2013 for Model Number Maytag Performa PYG2000AWWW I can hear a rubbing/grinding noise when there is a wet load in the drier. There is also a fresh band of wear forming on the front portion of the drum. The front guides look ok. I recently replaced the front right guide. According to the parts diagram found at AppliacePartsPros there is supposed to be a front roller located at the left side of the unit. I've never seen the front roller on this machine nor is one listed in the parts list. Could this missing roller be the cause of the rubbing and heavy wear? I tend to think not as we've had the drier for years without the roller, we got it used, and this wear issue has only recently come to light. Any help would be appreciated.
1 Answer Andy, Your unit does not have a roller in the front but you should go ahead and check the rear rollers to ensure that they are not damaged. Also when replacing the glide it is best to replace both at the same time as the glides would wear unevenly. Read More...
Bisho March 18, 2013 for Model Number DEL263W The Dryer is noisy ,There is a repeated " click "sound that can be heard loudly on each turn of the Drum. After opening the Dryer, I inspected the belt ,the rollers and the Idler pully; All seems to be OK. Can you help diagnose the fault please. Thanks and Best Regards.
1 Answer Bisho, You'll want to check the tumbler 53-1250 and the front drum glides WP31001469, WP31001470. If the seam, when the drum is produced is starting to separate or is worn badly, there will be a noise, and there could also be damage to the front tumbler guides. You also want to loosen and check the baffles 53-1249 and drum seals, there is apossibility that an object or coin has slipped under and into the baffle or drum seal and the object moves as the tumbler rotates or the tumbler rubs or hits the article if it is stuck in the felt seals. Jeff F March 14, 2013 for Model Number cdg22b6v To replace tumbler rollers in this model .... please help !
1 Answer Jeff, To replace the roller assembly you will first remove power from unit. To access the rollers you will use a putty knife to depress the spring clips that are located in between the main top and front panel. Once they have been depressed you will lift the maintop. With main top listed you will take out the 5/16" screws on either side of the front panel that holds it to the cabinet. With the cabinet front taken off you will then release the belt from the idler pulley and motor pulley. Lift the tumbler out and you have access to the rollers to replace. Read More...
E Glenn September 08, 2012 for Model Number pye3200ayw I replaced the drive belt on my dryer. Afterwards, my dryer drum keeps falling off the rear drum rollers every few weeeks. I've removed the drum, checked the two rollers and spacer washers. Clearance and condition seem excellent. The felt gasket, front and rear is worn, so I believe that the worn gaskets are allowing front-to-rear movement of the drum, which subsequently jumps off the rollers. I'm going to replace the felt gaskets. Am I fixing the wrong item? Is there something else that will contribute to this? I've had a lot of white shirts get caught in the rear gap of the drum and vent, which burns marks on the shirts (!) Aghhh!!.... Thanks.
1 Answer Hello E Glenn. The worn seals can cause the issue you are having. Also, make sure everything is tight in the unit. Read More...
