Wayne O. May 31, 2019 for Model Number MEDB850WL1 Have replaced the idler pulley and drum belt. I turned it on after sitting all night and after 5 minutes the rattling/squeaky finally quit and the dryer sounded fine. I shut it off and after 5 minutes turned it on and it sounded normal. This rattling is very irritating. The rollers seem to spin freely. What could be the problem?
1 Answer Hello Wayne, If all four of the rollers and the idler pulley spin freely the only thing that can cause the sound would be the bearings in the motor assembly WPW10448896. Read More...
Mike February 08, 2019 for Model Number WGD94HEAW0 I installed the dryer repair kit and the loud noise is gone, but now it is making a thumping sound. I noticed in your video that the drum support roller easily slid onto the shaft. Mine had to be forced on. I spun them by hand several times and they seemed to loosen up. Is there a break in period with the rollers, or do you suspect something else is causing the thumping sound?
1 Answer Mike, sometimes when the dryer stops there is a flat spot that develops on the rubber part of the roller and when the dryer starts back up and gets hot, the thumping will go away. Also, check the drum, there is a weld seam that can make a thumping noise. Read More...
Robert January 27, 2019 for Model Number AP3109602 Follow up question. I have ordered another kit. I took the dryer apart and the back wheels were all chewed up. I obviously did something wrong. I assume the drum was not on them properly. How do I know it is on the wheels properly? It spun.
1 Answer Robert, When installing the drum you would just roll the drum up onto the rollers. Also check to make sure that the drum weld has not broken which would cause this issue. Read More...
Robert January 21, 2019 for Model Number AP3109602 Hello. Our dryer was squeaking loudly. I bought this kit and used the video and got it in. The dryer squeak is gone and it was quiet for a few loads. However, now there is a thumping noise when it first starts. Any idea what I may have done wrong or what part I might need now? Just curious before I break it back open.
1 Answer Robert, you may want to check around the felt seal to ensure that it is sitting properly and that there is nothing stuck between it and the drum. Another thing to check for is to ensure that the rollers are spinning freely since the old rollers can leave a residue that can cause the roller shafts to have some stick to them. Read More...
Scott L January 16, 2019 for Model Number Kenmore HE2 I recently installed a roller repair kit. We ran 4 loads through the machine and on load 5 the drum started making small clunking/heavy vibration noises. I pulled the whole thing apart again and the rollers have small flat spots. I suspect this is the problem. Rollers seem to spin freely
1 Answer Scott, With the rollers having flat spots on them, check to see if the drum weld has separated which would most likely cause this issue. Read More...

Jonathan January 09, 2019 for Model Number 110.97086601 Is this the right replacement kit for my dryer? And if I want to start with just replacing the idler pulley, can I just remove the back panel of the dryer as I saw in one of your videos? Part Number: AP3109602 Dryer model: 110.97086601 Kenmore Elite HE5 Gas dryer
1 Answer Jonathan, This would be the correct kit for your unit and to change any of these components you will have to remove the front panel as there is no access from the back. Read More...
