Josh May 12, 2018 for Model Number LTE6234DQ2 I have cleaned the vent, replaced the heating element twice, the thermal cut off kit twice, and the high limit thermostat. The first time the dryer dried two loads and quit heating. The second time it ran five minutes and quit. Does the high limit thermostat reset or do we have to replace it if it trips? Any additional suggestions would be welcome!
1 Answer Josh, The hi limit thermostat would reset but the thermal fuse is a one time blow. For this issue you will want to also check the cycling thermostat which may not be opening and will keep the heater going causing the other thermostat to trip. Read More...
Jordan Bricker May 06, 2018 for Model Number WED4800XQ0 Dryer timer switch has to have pressure against it to keep from shutting off. Sometimes the cycle time goes faster than normal and shuts down after about 10 min.,when set for 50 or 60 min.
1 Answer Jordan, The first check needs to be the timer WPW10185982 / W10185982 . You should not have to have pressure against the timer knob to keep it from shutting off. " shuts down after about 10 min.,when set for 50 or 60 min.". Both of these symptoms would indicate an issue with the interior contacts or timer cam wheel, are bent, damaged and/or out of alignment. Davel March 30, 2018 for Model Number MDE508DAYW My dryer shuts off after a few minutes whether it’s loaded with clothes or not. I vacuumed the dryer to remove all dust and lint. Before it stopped working I noticed that the clothes, when dry, were extremely hot. What could the problem be. Thanks.
1 Answer Hello DaveL. Make sure your venting is good first. Then if the unit has to cool off before it will restart, you will need to order and replace the motor on the unit. Thank You. Read More...
Reigh D March 13, 2018 for Model Number Whirlpool Hi, My Gas dryer ignites and fires up and run for a few minutes and then cuts off. (observed it through the peephole). Do I need a thermal cut off sensor?
1 Answer Reigh, The thermal cutoff will not be the issue with the unit. Normally the unit will have flame for a few minutes and then flame shuts off and cycles on and off. If it is not coming back on then test the cycling thermostat to see if it is good and it could be an issue with the gas coils. Read More...
Matt March 10, 2018 for Model Number NED4600YQ1 My Dyer needs to cycle to dry my clothes all the way what should I do? I check ed the vent already
1 Answer Matt, If it is taking multiple cycles to dry the clothes then check the venting from the blower wheel to the outside of the home. Also if this checks ok then check the thermostats on the unit to make sure that they are good. Clean the sensor bars with rubbing alcohol as they may have a build up on them. Read More...
Toby Whitehorn February 24, 2018 for Model Number GEX9869JQ0 My dryer works but gets very hot and will shut off after 5-10 minutes on the highest setting. The display will flash an E1 code. What can I do to fix this?
1 Answer Toby, The E1 error will indicate an open thermistor and will want to check the wiring to the thermistor and if it checks ok then replace the thermistor. Read More...
Brian February 22, 2018 for Model Number AED4475TQ1 On the autodry function, lately the cloths still have a slight dampness at the end of the cycle and then I have to restart the dryer on a 20-30 time dry to finish the dry. Basically on the autodry function, the dryer is stopping too early. I don't think this dryer has a moisture sensor that can be cleaned like other dryers.
1 Answer Brian, You will want to check the venting of the unit to make sure that the venting is not clogged. Check from the lint duct all the way to the outside of your home. If this checks ok then this will most likely be a cycling thermostat issue. Read More...
Connie January 23, 2018 for Model Number LER3624JQ0 My dryer wont heat up it acts like it is on air dry do I need a heating elem. or thermos?
1 Answer Hello Connie. Check and make sure you have 240 volts coming to the dryer. Check and make sure the unit is not set to Air Fluff. Also check the heater and thermostats and see if they are good. You can test these with a multi-meter MA-DM1. They should read closed for continuity. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
