Bill January 24, 2015 We have a Maytag electric range and have replaced top elements with parts from Lowes. They are very poor quality, made in China and tend to fall apart (calrod spiral separates from the triangular support) and they shed black debris form the calrod surface. Are your elements better? Where are they made?
1 Answer Bill, We do not have information on where the parts are made but they are the manufacturer OEM parts and are of good quality. Read More...

Sandy November 07, 2014 for Model Number RF263LXTT3 Husband recv'd shock while stirring food in pot. I recv'd shock from handle on microwave which is above stove. I had removed and cleaned drip pans, etc the night before. One of the 6" elements look like the "gasket" hear the prong is busted off. Would this cause a shock?
1 Answer Sandy, As we're sure you know, water and electricity don't mix. If there was a spill over or water in or on the element receptacles, you could cause a short and receive a mild shock if you're touching certain areas or portions of the range, especially an electric range. By now things should have dried out satisfactorily and shouldn't present a problem. If the shock is still present then you'll need to check for a pinched or damaged wire in the range. There is no "gasket" involved in the element or receptacle, you probably mean the metal separator near the end of the element assembly, they can come loose on occasion, but don't normally present a problem. You would need to replace the element if that is the case. Read More...

Kelly July 14, 2014 for Model Number Whirlpool Electric Range model RF114PXSQ3 When the oven is on two of the cooktop burners get very hot. In addition, the cooktop burners sit too high such that cooktop burner covers don't fit. Any ideas?
1 Answer Kelly, There is a vent under the right rear burner that will cause the burners to get hot when the oven is on. For the burners sitting too high the only thing that you can do is to make sure that they are properly seated in the top and that the correct burner bowls are installed. Read More...
