Kent September 30, 2013 How do you check to see if your Surface element is bad or the Surface Burner Receptacle?
1 Answer Hello Kent. The element should read closed for continuity. The receptacle should show 240 volts with the switch on. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Don July 10, 2012 for Model Number rf315pxpq0 I'm helping a friend replace her burner elements both 6 inch and 8 inch. All four of the existing ones are no longer level. A pan will not sit on them flat anymore and they don't sit correctly I'm sure. I have no idea what happened to cause this however I don't want to install them wrong. Is there something she did wrong in replacing them after cleaning each time that might be the problem? She's a sweetheart and has no clue what she might have done.
1 Answer Hello Don, There is no way anyone caused the elements to malform. This is a characteristic of the elements and the actual cause is the high temperature. Read More...
