Karen H October 29, 2012 for Model Number MEC7430WB Maytag glass cooktop The back right burner (large burner but not the speed heat burner) has stopped heating like it used to. I can boil water but it takes twice as long and I used to be able to see the coils glow beneath the glass surface when first turned on but now I don't. I'm assuming I need to replace the element but could it be the infinite switch causing the problem? Can you verify the part numbers for both items, too please?
1 Answer Hello Karen, The first thing that you want to do is ensure that you have power going to switch L1 to L2 should be 240VAC. If you have proper voltage going to switch then you want to check to make sure you are getting power to other side of switch H1 to H2 240vac. If you do not have proper power then you would want to change switch WPW10244639. If you have proper power then you would want to replace element WPW10251107. Read More...
