Questions & Answers

For Whirlpool Element (1200W) (Right Rear And Left Rear) (Part Number: OEM18855825)

1 Answer

Carl, it would be recommended that the wiring is inspected to ensure there are no grounded wires going to the element. If this checks good, then the right front switch WPW10244639 would be the reason for this failure.

Norbert for Model Number Kenmore 6289087610

Hi; I have an old Kenmore smoothtop kitchen range for which I need a replacement right rear radiant heating element. Since this appliance is from the 1980's it is difficult to find information regarding compatible burner elements. I have removed the stovetop and the burner in question. On the back of the ceramic I read "REX ROTO RR-1223-A2" and below that "1200 W. 240 V." but have been unable to determine what might be a suitable replacement unit. Thank you for your help!

Norbert, The part number for the element would be 1310524 but unfortunately has been discontinued by the manufacturer with no suitable replacement available.

Qpham for Model Number WFE525C0BS0

Looks like the front two large burners are not working as the front right lights up then go off and no heat for a long while. The front left lights up but takes and seems like it works but take a long time to heat up. I opened up the cover and noticed both of these burners got cracks in the ceramic like ring parts that the coils are in. And the rear burners that i tested to be working all have the rings intact. I'm not sure how they cracked but is that what caused them to not work anymore? Anyway would I need to replace both front large burners and the correct p/n for them? Thanks

Qpham, the cracked insulation you are referring to will not keep the element from working, it just keeps the heat from leaking out around the element. The part numbers for the front elements are, W11047722, and WPW10535150

Caleb, The part number for the right front surface element will be W11517959 and the left rear element will be WPW10342780. The hot surface light would most likely be on because of one of these elements being defective.

Dave, It is normal for a burner to cycle on and off but if it is doing it rapidly then this would most likely be a surface element that is faulty.
