From the replies listed in your repair site, I think the problem is the igniter. What is the appropriate part? On your list of parts, I see a round style and a flat style, neither one of which is made by Amana.

Bettie August 29, 2011 for Model Number mgr4452bdb Is this the part I need for my Maytag Range? Oven and broiler will not ignite. Thanks, B.
1 Answer Hello Bettie. Test for 3.2-3.6 volts AC at the gas safety valve with the igniter turned on. If the voltage is there, you have a bad safety valve WP74009891. If the voltage is low, you have a weak igniter and the igniter 12400035 will need to be replaced. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. Hope this helps. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...

Ralph S. July 25, 2011 for Model Number Magic Chef M# CGR3725ADW I replaced gas valve assembly because gas flow changed frequently and when rapping on valve gas came on completely and then shut off freguently. The ignitor glows a dull orange except in middle glows brighter orange. The voltage at burner is 1.8 volts. The burner now comes on fully but shuts off periodically. Another post stated that I should have close to 4 volts at the burner.
1 Answer Hello Ralph. It sounds like the igniter is weak and is causing the problems your having. You will want to test at the gas valve and see if there is 3.0-3.4 VAC there. If not, you will need to replace the igniter 12400035 in the oven. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. Hope this helps.http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
