Ron November 21, 2011 for Model Number Magic Chef 3121WTV When turning the thermostat on for my oven and broiler, nothing happens. The range was purchased in May, 1995, and a new ignitor was installed in October, 2007 ($169), and spark module was replaced in February, 2005 ($138). The range still looks great and I use the oven infrequently. What do think is the problem?
1 Answer Hi Ron. You need to inspect the oven igniter and see if it ohms out between 50-800 ohms cold. Is the igniter cracked open in the middle? It may widen enough to not be able to draw the correct amperage to open the safety valve . Igniter part # 12400035. Thank You. Read More...

Duke November 08, 2011 for Model Number fgf 366 eca Can I replace the broiler ignitor and install in the oven?

Duke November 08, 2011 for Model Number fgf 366 eca My igniter works in the oven. It glows, but won't turn the gas on.
1 Answer Hello Duke. Test for 3.2-3.6 volts AC at the gas safety valve with the igniter turned on. If the voltage is there, you have a bad safety valve 316404900. If the voltage is low, you have a weak igniter and the igniter 5304534663 will need to be replaced. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter.
