Jack December 12, 2018 for Model Number MVWX700XL1 I ordered gear case W11132267 for my washer but when the part came in the shaft was 6.5 inches longer then the original one I pulled out. Also The shaft looked different. I can send pics if need be. Can you please help and tell me if this is normal? Just don’t understand how it’s suppose to fit with a 6 inch longer shaft. I’m thinking they had the wrong part in box. Have you come across this before? Please help me get my washer running again!
1 Answer Jack, This sounds like it was a mispacked part or they put the label on the wrong package. The shaft of this part should be approximately 6 1/2" total length. Read More...
Scott K. October 21, 2018 for Model Number WTW4950XW2 My machine sounds like a jet engine during the spin cycle only. The drive belt is tight with no signed of wear. I don’t have any leaks anywhere. 1 Answer Hello Scott, the bearing is only available in the gearcase assembly part number W11132267. Thanks! Read More...
David October 02, 2018 for Model Number MVWC400XW2 About to order the replacement transmission. Your Part # AP6262391 and have two questions. #1 This new transmission comes with the outer tub seal as shown? #2 My Maytag unit uses a metal inner tub retainer that is badly corroded, does the plastic one pictured replace the old metal type? And it does in fact come supplied with the transmission? Thanks for your advise...
1 Answer David, Yes, #1. the outer tub seal is included in the gearcase replacement part. #2 Yes, the white "plastic" hub and "plastic" clip is the revised hub assembly and is also included with the gearcase. Fred July 27, 2018 for Model Number WTW5640XW2 Washer operates but is very loud, especially on spin. It has started leaking water on the floor. From reading all the other questions, sounds like the gearbox needs to be replaced. Does the shaft/tub seal come with the gearbox? Is it recommended to replace the drive block kit when performing this repair? Is the drive block kit included with the gearbox? Thank you.
1 Answer Fred, it sounds like you need the gearcase based on what you have stated in your question, the shaft seal only comes with the purchase of the outer tub, I would replace all seals and gaskets when doing this job. Read More...
