Eric Molohan October 07, 2018 for Model Number WTW5000DW1 I noticed oil and grease sprayed under my washer. Took it apart and I believe it to be coming from the transmission seal. Is the seal itself available or does the entire transmission need to be replaced?
1 Answer Eric, you would need to replace the complete gearcase assembly, part number is W11454734 Read More...
Richard Atcheson August 28, 2018 for Model Number maytag mvwc555dw0 On this washer it has developed a noise during wash cycle that sounds like a whump at the end of each cycle. It's getting louder. A repair guy says it's the gears wearing in the gear case. We checked the splush thingie and it shows NO wear so far. Does his recommendation sound right? If so, I need to verify the part you list for the maytag and model are correct. Thanks, Richard
1 Answer Richard, before you replace the gearcase, make some checks along the drive train. Check that there is no play in the pulley, it should be very tight with no wobble. Check the agitator wash plate to make sure it is not slipping. If you need to replace the gearcase, it is part number W11454734 Read More...
