The Rear Oven Door Glass is an OEM part for Whirlpool ovens. This glass panel is installed on the inside of the oven door and is essential for providing a heat-resistant viewing window, allowing users to monitor the cooking process without opening the door. Measuring about 20 inches by 10 inches, this quality glass keeps heat in the oven and provides a clear view for easy baking.

Symptoms of a bad Rear Oven Door Glass include:

  • Cracks or chips in the glass,
  • Visible streaks or fogging between glass layers that can't be cleaned,
  • A loose fit that may cause heat to escape or the glass to rattle during oven use.

Causes of rear oven door glass damage typically include thermal stress from high heat, impact from closing the door too forcefully, or accidental bumps with pots or pans.

This OEM part is also compatible with Maytag, KitchenAid, Jenn-Air, Amana, Magic Chef, Admiral, Norge, Roper, and Kenmore models.

Hi Vijay. Open the door and trip the hinge lever to the lock position. Then lift the door up and off the frame hinge pins. Set a shipping blanket on a sturdy table. Lay the door face up so you can access the inner door screws. Take note of the screws as you remove the back panel. Lay all aside carefully so you know which order to reinstall them. Make sure you use a shop vac. to pick up all broken glass pieces. Unwrap the inner frame insulation. Take cell phone pictures to reassemble unit. Inner glass part # WP4449259. Thank You.

Hello Silvia. WP4449259 is the correct inner door glass. To change the glass in an oven door, you will need to determine how to remove the door on the model number you are working on. If you open the door to the first stopping point, some oven doors will lift off the unit in this position. On other models, you will see clips on the back of the hinge toward the opening where the hinge enters the range. If yours is like this, you will open the door all the way open, then pull the clips down until they stop and lock in place. Then close the door to the stopping point and lift the door off the range. If you door does not lift off, and it does not have the clips, then you will open the door all the way open. You will see a hole in the hinge at the bottom of the door. You will insert a pin or nail into that hole and close the door to the stopping point. Then you can lift the door off the unit. Once the door is removed, you will lay it on a soft surface and disassemble the door. Pay attention and make notes if needed for reassembly of the oven door. Once you have replaced the door glass, you will reinstall the oven door back onto the range in reverse order of the way you removed it. Hope this helps.

Tom, I'm having the same problem with finding a 13 X 18 inch inner door glass, Could you verify the model number, in the mean time we can start a research inquiry. As for the aluminum tape, it attaches to the back side of the outer door glass, in the upper area to reflect the heat away from the handle and top of the door glass, so you don't need it unless you're replacing the outer door glass. Thanks
