Jan August 02, 2011 for Model Number GEQ8858KT0 I recieved the new heating element. Thanks for the fast service. However when I was removing the old element I marked which wires went to each terminal but I neglected to mark where the red wires go and where the black wires go. If I have them crossed, will it do any damage? I cannot find a wiring diagram anywhere.
1 Answer Hello Jan. The black and the red/white wire hooks to the high limit thermostat WP3390291. It does not matter which terminal. Hope this helps. Read More...
Wayne July 27, 2011 for Model Number GEW9250PWO I am not getting very much lint in the lint trap. I do have a booster blower in-line to pull the lint to the outside and the vent doesn't appear to be clogged. This is the second heating element this year.
1 Answer Hello Wayne. Check and see if the blower wheel WP697772 inside the dryer is broke or clogged with lint. If so, you will need to clean it out or replace it if it is broke. If it is good, make sure there are no clogs in the venting system, and the lint filter W10120998 is sealing good to catch the lint. Hope this helps. Read More...
John June 06, 2011 for Model Number GEW9200LWo How do you get the heating element out of the heater box?
1 Answer Hello John. There is a 1/4 inch screw on the side of the heater box that will need to be removed. It is located by the element terminals. Once removed, the element will pull out of the heater box. Reinstall in reverse order. Hope this helps. Read More...
Kenneth B. April 25, 2011 for Model Number 110.67741600 This dryer takes forever to dry and the clothes are not as hot as our friend's clothes even on "cotton" setting. It has been this way for a long time but I think it has gotten worst. Now I would like to do something to fix it. My dad, who can generally fix anything, is here now and he may be able to do the work if you can advise what the trouble might be. I do not think the electrical to the dryer has changed over time. Thanks for your input. Ken
1 Answer Hello Kenneth, you will want to disconnect the dryer from the vent tubing located on the rear of the unit. Run a cycle and verify it's drying normally when not connected to the vent tubing. If so, you will have to clear the tubing from any obstructions. Thanks! Read More...
Shane April 24, 2011 for Model Number gew9250pwo My dryer will not heat up at all. Would that be the element?
1 Answer Hello Shane. Check and make sure you have 240 volts coming to the dryer. Also check the heater WP3387747 and thermal fuses 279973 and see if they are good. You can test these with a multi-meter MA-DM1. They should read closed for continuity. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. Hope this helps. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...

Mike N. March 28, 2011 for Model Number GEC9858HZ1 I get a small stream of water coming out of the right side of my dryer after I dry a couple of loads of clothes. What could be causing this? I've checked to make sure there is good air flow (cleaned out the Blower housing, Lint screen housing, and the out exhaust pipe etc) to ensure it wasn't a build up of lint. It still does it running through a couple of loads. Any idea's
1 Answer Hello Mike. Try running the dryer without the vent hooked to the back of it, and see if the problem goes away. If so, there is a problem with the vent. Hope this helps. Read More...
