Andy December 13, 2014 for Model Number Jenn Air JDS9860AAW I need to replace the oven door hinges. Do the side panels need to be removed to do this or can they slide in through the front opening? Thanks
1 Answer Hello Andy, The door hinges on this model should drop down through the bottom from the access panel. Read More...
Tom L. November 01, 2014 for Model Number JES9800AAS My oven door does not seem to close flush bottom to top allowing heat to escape on sides and top. Gasket is squished flat at bottom of oven but not on top. From the side view a slight angle is visible increasing from bottom (angled towards open). The hinge doesn't appear to be adjustable. How do I fix this? I now have to replace the expensive keypad which I'm concerned failed as a result of the heat loss from the oven.
1 Answer Hello Tom, This will be either a worn out door hinge 74011142 or a bent or otherwise damaged door liner 2402W267-19. Read More...
David April 18, 2014 for Model Number GW397LXUS05 The broiler functions fine but the bake does not. I checked the bake igniter it is fine. I assume since the broiler works that it is not in the gas valve. Am I correct that I should check elsewhere. thanks for your help
1 Answer David, The oven safety valve is a very good possibility of being faulty. To check here is what you need to do. Test for 3.2-3.6 vac at the gas safety valve with the igniter turned on. If the voltage is there, you have a bad safety valve. If the voltage is low, you have a weak igniter and the igniter will need to be replaced. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...

Jim December 22, 2011 for Model Number mer6775aas Right side hinge on the bottom oven squeaks. I assume the only way to stop the squeak is to replace it. Can only one be replaced or should both be done?
1 Answer Hello Jim. Yes, the best way to solve the squeek, is to replace the hinge 74011142. It is best to replace both when replacing the hinge on the door. You can also try applying some lubricant 5303307893 to the hinges. Hope this helps. Read More...
