Jerzy November 25, 2022 for Model Number WFG715H0ES0 The burner doesn't light when trying to bake in the oven. Set the Bake temperature. Press Start. Hear clicking for a little bit and gas flows. Then the gas shuts off. What needs to be done to troubleshoot further, or what part do I need?
1 Answer Jerzy, the spark module WPW10511278 would need to be tested for voltage during a bake cycle. At the connection J1, the red wire at pin 6 would need to be tested for 120 VAC when the unit fails. If there is voltage, the next step would be testing from the red wire at pin 1 to the orange wire at pin 2 for 8 to 18 VDC. If there is not voltage, the spark module has failed. If there is voltage, the safety valve W10919226 would need to be replaced. However, if there was not 120VAC at the first test, the oven sensor W10833885 would need to be tested for resistance when the range is unplugged. It should measure 1100 Ohms at room temperature. If the sensor tests good, the main control WPW10340317 would be the likely cause of failure. Read More...
David December 28, 2020 for Model Number WFG715H0ES0 Setting temp for the oven. Hearing clicking sound, as the oven wants to start but doesn't. Only smell gas.
1 Answer David, it is recommended that the oven burners are cleaned as it sounds like the ignitors are sparking but are unable to spark in the direction needed. If they are not sparking, then the ignitors would need to be inspected to identify if the broil ignitor WPW10324262 and bake ignitor WPW10333842 tips have residue on them or if the housings are cracked. If not, then the likely failure would be in the spark module WPW10511278 if it is receiving 120VAC from the main control WPW10340317 when a cooking cycle is on. Read More...
Danny May 15, 2020 for Model Number WFG540H0ES1 My propane range is heating on the top burners. But, my oven and broiler does not work. I have replaced the igniter but that does not solve the problem. I set the oven to 350 degrees and hear a click. The dial reads 100 degrees but the oven does not heat at all. What's the problem? Thanks
1 Answer Danny, it sounds like the spark module located in the console has failed, part number is WPW10511278, it provides the ignition to the bake and broil spark igniters. Read More...
Branka Clemens December 21, 2019 for Model Number KGRS202BBL0 My oven does not always ignite. When I am lucky enough to get it going, it clicks a lot and the flame goes out. The gas still flows and the temperature on the panel remains until I push the off button. When this happens, I cannot get the oven to reignite until the next day. Can you please help me with what it may be? Thank you.
1 Answer Branka, based on what you have described you may need to replace the gas regulator/valve. It has solenoids that open and close to release gas into the oven for the bake and broil burner. part number is WPW10602004 Read More...

Jeff September 21, 2019 for Model Number MGR8880AS0 My Maytag oven does not consistently light. I hear a click click click and smell faint gas, but does not light at times. Sometimes it's ok. Would this be the igniter? Thanks
1 Answer Hello Jeff, This can be caused by a bad bake burner W10764654 or a failing safety valve WPW10602004. Read More...

Mark March 25, 2015 for Model Number KGRS303BSS0 Hi, I My oven 'appears' to work normally (no errors and the display works fine) but once the oven reaches the desired temperatures it often drops in temperature dramatically. It sound like the gas is not igniting, I can hear the ignitor 'click, click' but no 'woosh. Is this likely a problem with my ignitor or my gas valve? Im just thrown off by the fact the the oven seems to heat up to temperature with no issues but is only about 30% successful at holding that tempurature. Thanks in advance,
1 Answer Mark, With the igniter clicking but the unit not lighting it sounds like the coils on the safety valve, when they get heated up, are defective and the safety valve would need to be replaced. Read More...
