Tub Will Not Spin During Wash Or High Spin Cycle March 05, 2012 for Model Number Whirlpool Ultimate Care ii (model LSQ8220HQ0 My washer agitates just fine. When the wash and spin cycle start I hear a loud grinding noice (grind,pause,grind,pause,grind.....) 200BPM. I replaced the motor coupler, clutch assembly and the steel block under the spanner nut. Could the outer tub be the issue? The block doesn't appear to grab and spin the tub. Running out of options and cash....Thanks for your help.

Slr February 22, 2012 for Model Number 11082980110 I just purchased a new inner tub for my Kenmore washer. The part number I received is W10389328. This particular tub has very small slots in the bottom instead of larger round holes. Does this particular replacement inner tub use any type of filter on the bottom of the basket like the old Kenmore style basket?
1 Answer SLR, the new basket W10389328 is a redesigned basket and no longer uses the filters. Thanks! Read More...

Allen B December 18, 2011 for Model Number LA5599XPW4 When I removed the inter tube basket part#64217 or (W10389328) from the washer I can hear water splashing inside of it and there was bad rust on the bottom where it fits on the shaft. Do I need to replace it and will the water make it walk the floor on spin cycle. I replaced the top and bottom pads and support springs which help alot.
1 Answer Allen, the sloshing water noise is normal. you have a sodium chloride(salt water) balance ring in the top of the tub. Clean up any rust as best possible and you'll be fine, The rust will not affect the clothes or the washing cycle and it will take years for the mounting holes to deteriorate enough to cause an issue. Thanks and Good Luck Read More...

Gary October 07, 2011 for Model Number Gsq9669lg1 The holes at the bottom half of the basket of my 6 yr old washer have rusted and leave stains. My question: I'm an advanced "DIYer"' is replacing the basket something I should tackle or leave it to a pro? Also' besides the basket' what hardware should I replace at the same time? Thanks! Model #GSQ9669LG1
1 Answer Hello Gary. The basket W10389328 is not hard to replace, and should be all you need, if everything else is working properly. Just disconnect the power and remove the cabinet from the washer by flipping the control panel, and remove the two brass colored clips. Then remove the outer tub ring and the agitator from the unit. Once removed, you will remove the spanner nut locking the tub in place. You will need a spanner wrench TB123B to do this. Then lift out the old basket and install the new one. Hope this helps. Harry W. August 05, 2011 for Model Number lsb6500pw3 My washer has the 3.2 cu.ft wash basket. I want to be able to wash bigger loads, bigger than before to save time. So, I want to increase the basket size by installing a larger tub. Can I replace and put Whirlpool's (4.0 cu.ft. inner basket) manufacturer's p/n (W10389328) into my LSB6500PW3 washer? The outer tub p/n 63849 is the same size for all of Whirlpool's large 3.0 to super size plus 4.0 capacity (agitator-type) washers.
1 Answer Hi Harry. It is not advised because the electrical pressure switch, wiring , and timmer (cycles) are not set for your larger basket filling, and rinse and wash times. It probably best to go to that type of washer altogether. Thank you. Read More...
