This is an inner tub basket intended for use with washing machines and combination washers and dryers. It is located inside the washing machine in the middle of the appliance. The inner tub basket is responsible for holding clothing during a washing cycle. It has an agitator in the middle and sides with holes so that water can leave when the tub is spinning. It is attached to the outer tub, which seals in the water. The inner tub basket can become damaged and cause loud noises, leak, or fail to drain. If this occurs, this component will need to be replaced. Basic tools will be needed for the process. Make sure the washing machine is unplugged for safety. The hoses will need to be removed before taking out the inner tub basket and replacing it with a new one. The inner tub basket is sold on an individual basis. It is an authentic OEM replacement part that is sourced directly from the manufacture. This part is compatible with washing machines and washer/dryer combination appliances made by Inglis, Estate, Admiral, Crosley, Roper, Magic Chef, Amana, KitchenAid, Maytag, Kenmore, and Whirlpool.

1 Answer

Ron, It is possible for the inner basket to have an orange brown rust to it. This is especially true in areas that have hi levels of Iron in the water.

Hello. Soak the area that is stuck with some break free or rust buster and let it soak for about 30 min. Then you will jerk upward to break the tub free from the unit.

Richard M for Model Number Kenmore Elite 110.22996101 (10.5 yrs old)

The machine suddenly started vibrating (violently) and walking across the floor during the spin cycle. The machine has never exhibited this behavior in 10 years. I replaced 3 suspension springs (#63907) and 1 counterbalance spring (#388492). Tub base pads (#3363660) look new. All the support frames under the tub are not rusted or broken or cracked. The salt water suspension ring seems to have no leaks and I can feel and hear the water sloshing in the ring. This machine will vibrate and walk even when empty. Any Clues? P.S. I saw a picture of the replacement tub (W10389328) on your site that shows the balance ring on top of the tub. The picture shows the teeth that are situated around the inside of the ring. They appear NOT to be engaged against anything. Is this balance ring supposed to move radially? My inner teeth are engaged fully against protrusions which makes my balance ring unable to move radially.

Richard, Check and make sure the rear self levelling/locking legs, are locked in place. Is there any movement or vobration in the floor. Stand in front of the washer a foot away, and see if you feel movement in the floor. You also need to check and make sure the skid plate and base "pads" aren't damaged or worn, and that the pads haven't slid off of each other. And make sure the cabinet has been aligned and installed properly on the base and back panel properly.

Zach, to access the filter you'll need to remove the cabinet and top, tub cover and agitator, then remove the drive block nut using the spanner wrench TB123B, lift the tub out and remove the filter. We'll send you the information,so you'll have a more exact idea. Thanks and Good Luck

Hello PKF. Once the nut is removed, rock the basket back and forth side to side real fast as you are lifting on the basket. Make sure the outer tub ring is removed from the top of the outer tub to remove it. These can be hard to get to come loose.
