Rick September 01, 2014 for Model Number maytag neptune hello! I followed all instructions on how to install a new belt for my maytag but it keeps coming off. I position belt on small motor pulley towards the front, middle and back but it keeps coming off after a few turns.. I contacted company where i got the part and all part numbers match... Any suggestions?
1 Answer Rick, You will want to ensure that the pulley is not warped or moving in an odd way that would cause the issue. Also make sure that the motor is securely in place. Read More...
Laurence S July 29, 2014 for Model Number MAH21PNAGW Hi there. My problem is that I needed to replace the drive belt on my Maytag washer. So I ordered the same part number 6272 2870 from an ebay trader, and had it shipped to the UK. I assumed it was the same length… WRONG. When I came to fit it yesterday, It turns out that it’s too short. My old belt is 54” long (may have stretched a little bit over 9 years). The new belt I received (Made in Brazil, by the way) is only 52” long with the part number clearly printed on it 6272 2870. Please help me. Is there another belt with a different part number that has replaced 6272 2870 for my washer. If so what is it’s number, do you stock it, how much is it and will you ship it to the UK for me?
1 Answer Hello Laurence. These belt are extremely tight and difficult to install. Start the belt onto the small motor pulley and roll it onto the large pulley. If the numbers match, it should be correct. 12001788 is the correct belt and is 52 5/8 inches. Read More...
Mark M. May 28, 2014 for Model Number MLE2000AYW Hello, I need to replace my Neptune washer belt. I previously purchased a replacement belt online and despite having the identical part # to my belt PN 62722870, the replacement belt was too short. My belt is 54.5" and the FSP OEM replacement was 53" and did not fit. The part # on the bag the replacement part came in is 12001788. The company I bought it from said there were two belts for my machine and I needed the longer one? However since the part number on the shorter belt was identical to the part number on my longer belt, I am very confused. What part # do I really need? Thanks, Mark
1 Answer Hello Mark! Belt part number 12001788 is the replacement belt listed for the washer of model MLE2000AYW. This belt is 52 5/8" and should fit per the manufacturer. Thanks. Read More...
Sergey April 12, 2014 for Model Number MAH5500BWW Hello, my question is about AP4009041 My washer Maytag MAH5500BWW stopped spinning. It made weird noise and there was some burning smell before it stopped working. I opened the back and found that the belt went off. I see it is damaged on the inside in 1-2 inches length. The replacement part would be AP4009041, but it includes a belt plus isolators. How would I know if I need to replace isolators as well or can just replace the belt?
1 Answer Sergey, It is recommended to replace both the isolators and the belt at the same time. If this is not done, there is the potential for the new belt to be damaged as well. Read More...

Rob April 24, 2013 for Model Number MAH3000AGW I'm trying to replace the belt on my MAH3000AGW. The original belt is printed with the following: "MAYTAG 22002040 62706950". Ordered from your website belt part number WPL 12001788 (according to your website recomendation). The belt arrived and its 42mm shorter than the original (1.6 IN shorter). Lenght of original 1380mm. Length or replacement received: 1338mm. Called costumer service and they told me the original may have streched. The original is dificult to install as it is (using the recommended technique of starting from the motor and then rolling it on the big pulley). There is now way to strech the replacement so much to make it fit (and even if it is possible to do, there will be a huge load on the bearings). Please recheck the lenghts specified here, and let me know. Thanks Rob
1 Answer Hello Rob. Based on the model number and the old part number on the belt, 12001788 is the correct belt. These are very tight and most likely, the old belt is stretched and that is the reason it is larger. Read More...
