Alan August 25, 2018 for Model Number 110.86577100 I have a older sears dryer (whirlpool) model 110.86577100 which has a knob for the timer split on the stem. The original diagram shows the knob and clip for the time as 688865. Can someone give the replacement part number for the knob and does the clip come with the replacement knob? Cheryl August 14, 2012 for Model Number DRB2455RALAD The dyer is heating fine, when i turn the knob to set a time, the knob does not move but the clothes continue to dry. Is this a problem with the knob or do i need to replace the timer.
1 Answer Hello Cheryl, if you are able to turn the timer knob and hear the timer clicking as it moves from one cycle to the other than you can rule the knob out. If the knob was broken it wouldn't move the timer from one cycle to the next. If it never moves off of one of the minute marks that you set it at, my guess is you have a bad timer. Part # WE4X797. Frank June 20, 2012 for Model Number 11086180100 I bought the replacement timer knob part # 688865 but this timer knob has a smaller stem in outside diameter and the inside is smaller like for a smaller shaft. I located the metal sleeve on the old one and even if I were able to remove the sleeve in the new one it would still be to small. Can you help?
1 Answer Hello Frank! The dryer timer knob, WP688865, is the correct replacement for your model 11086180100 according to the manufacturer. If you were needing the push to start knob you will need part number 349796. Make sure that none of the knob has broken off on the timer shaft causing it to not be able to install on the shaft.
