Hello Cheryl, if you are able to turn the timer knob and hear the timer clicking as it moves from one cycle to the other than you can rule the knob out. If the knob was broken it wouldn't move the timer from one cycle to the next. If it never moves off of one of the minute marks that you set it at, my guess is you have a bad timer. Part # WE4X797.

Hello Frank! The dryer timer knob, WP688865, is the correct replacement for your model 11086180100 according to the manufacturer. If you were needing the push to start knob you will need part number 349796. Make sure that none of the knob has broken off on the timer shaft causing it to not be able to install on the shaft.
