Julie April 04, 2020 for Model Number WP2180259 and WP2180268 I have spent quite some time attempting to remove the panel so I can get to the parts I need to replace. I've watched your videos (a lot!) and one side of the panel will not release. In fact, I've not cracked it at the bottom. In the video with Matt, it seems to loosen easily - mine will not budge. Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Also there is a collection of shaved ice around where the ice is dispensed that needs to be scraped off from time to time to let the ice flow. We cannot use the crushed ice dispenser at all because it just makes the problem worse. Can anyone help with them.

Ada September 02, 2012 for Model Number KSRG25FYMTOO The ice dispenser won't dispense ice but I can hear the motor sound and the door does open and it closes, too. The water dispenses fine, too. Help.
1 Answer Hello Ada, The first one of these I ran into I determined that the shaft was too short. I called the manufacturers' technical assistance line and the tech line operator advised me to order the shaft and the new one should be long enough to reach from the motor to the ice bin. When the parts came in and I returned to the customers' home, I dis-assembled it and compared the shaft lengths. They were the same length! I called the tech line back and they were at a loss. They said since it was out of warranty, they were unable to assist the customer. Now I had the same parts that wouldn't help in the repair, no assistance from the manufacturer, and a really mad customer. That's when I made the decision to make it work any way. I removed the crusher bin and the two screws that secures the shaft, and pulled the shaft. I wadded up a small wad of electrical tape and shoved it up into the shaft to prevent it from dropping down as far, (It probably made the shaft set 1/8 to 1/4 of an inch higher in the opening). When I re-assembled the mess, much to my surprise, it worked perfectly. I returned about a year and a half later to service the washer and the customer said, "Hey, you're the guy that made my unrepairable ice dispenser work!". When I asked if it gave them any problems she said it had worked flawlessly ever since. Give it a try and let me know if you need any more assistance. I'm here to help! Read More...
