Raise the lid and remove the two hinge pins screws from both sides of the lid using a T15 TORX driver. . Slide the lid off the hinge pins, and remove lid from the washer. Jeannie May 21, 2016 for Model Number WTW8600YW1 The washer lid cracked at the back around the metal/plastic portion of the lid. When lifting the lid up and down, the front and right side would pop up making the washer impossible to use because it could not lock. I used electrical tape to hold the plastic in place and put heavy objects on top of the glass to keep the lid down so it could lock when the washer was in use. I decided to order a new lid, Part Number W10842412, however when i received the lid, there were no instructions as to the installation. How do I install the new lid? Thanks!

Shep December 13, 2015 for Model Number Whirlpool WTW7800XW 27" Cabrio I need to replace the cracked lid. Is a solid lid available instead of the glass one since I don't stand and watch it work?
Carlton December 12, 2015 Just now my cabrio soft close lid had started coming up short on closing by about two inches. When I manually push it closed and take my hand off it springs back to the incorrect position. It acts like there is a calibration in the hinges that has been thrown off. When opening the lid it appears to go back further than I remember. Almost touching the control panel. Are these hinges adjustable do I can have it open not as far and close a little farther. I this is a 5.3 cubic ft. Top load washer. Bought it a week ago. Thanks for any help.
1 Answer Carlton, Unfortunately the hinges on this unit would not be adjustable and you would need to replace the hinge. Read More...
