Calvin August 31, 2019 for Model Number WTW6600SB2 Is there a replacement part for the lid of this model?
1 Answer Calvin, Unfortunately, the manufacturer has discontinued the WPW10183521 / W10071520 / W10183520 Lid, Glass Assembly Black. The manufacturer no longer sells the part. We can no longer get it from any of our suppliers. There is no substitute for the part available to us and we don't know of any other source for the part. You may want to try contacting local parts dealers, one of them might still have it in stock. Enter your part number in a search engine, a smaller company might have it. Try eBay, Amazon or similar sites. Search by using the manufacturer's part number. Try a used appliance store, sometimes they have the same model or usable part for your machine or access to someone who does have the part or access to a repair facility that can repair or refurbish your part. Jaycee November 15, 2018 for Model Number wtw7800xlo I have the same problem many people have on their Cabrio washing machine with the lid. i have replaced the lid 3 times And it has broken again, I've even epoxied a couple of them when they first cracked to get a little more life out of them. the first one only cost $121, Whirpool claims they have had no issues with the lids. So with that said, if you cannot say (for legal or other reasons) the all metal lid will fit, if i order one & it doesn't fit, can i return it with no charge?
1 Answer Jaycee, Unfortunately there is not a metal lid that would fit that we are aware of and here is a link to our return policy. https://www.appliancepartspros.com/customerservice/returns.aspx Read More...

Linda M. December 04, 2017 for Model Number W11099680A The hose connections at the back of the washer have plastic inserts. Do they need to be removed?
1 Answer Hello Linda, I'm sorry but we will need to ask you to post a new question including the model number from your units' I.D. tag so we can see what you are referring to. If they are the screens, they should be there to protect the water valve from mineral deposits and sedimentation from the water supply. If something other than this, we would need more information to advise. Thank you for your patience and understanding in this matter. Read More...
Janet October 30, 2017 for Model Number WTW7800XLO I am considering purchasing a used Cabrio washer and electric dryer. The washer apparently needs a new lid. I see that is a common problem. I believe I located the part AP6020096 from your website, however, the pair I would be buying is silver, not white. Do you carry a silver lid and what is the price/shipping for that item? Thanks
1 Answer Hello Janet, The silver version of the lid is WPW10349136 and the current pricing is on our site. Read More...

Mark August 31, 2017 for Model Number WTW7800XL0 I received the replacement lid I ordered on Wednesday. I've read though that it's common for the lids to break. One person recommended removing the spring from the hinge. Of course, that would mean the lid will not stand up by itself. That prompts two questions: 1) Is that a viable solution to avoid having the lid break again in the future? 2) Do you have a video that shows how to remove the hinge spring, or can you explain the steps to do that? Thanks.
1 Answer Mark, We would not recommend you remove the tension spring from the hinge assembly. You'll most likely have more issues with the lid not staying up, or dropping and slamming down. There are no instructions for removing the spring, but it's not that difficult.Unplug washer or disconnect power. To remove the lid: Raise the lid and remove the two hinge pin screws from both sides and slide the lid off the hinge pins.Pull the hinge pin out of the hinge you are removing. Remove the top hex-head screw from the hinge you are removing. Raise the cabinet top. Remove the hex-head screw from the hinge mounting bracket, and remove the hinge from the cabinet top. Make sure the spring is in the "relaxed" position, use a pair of needle nosed pliers and remove the spring from the hinge assembly. Reverse the procedure and see what happens. Read More...
Steve May 12, 2017 Can I replace my metal lid with a glass lid on my whirlpool cabrio washer by just changing the lids. I am assuming the glass lid is heavier.

Debra March 28, 2017 for Model Number WTW7800XWO We had to replace the lid a couple of years ago on the Whirlpool Cabrio as it cracked by the hinges. I am always so careful when washing clothes and now once again it has broken in the same place. Is there anyway to fix this without ordering another $200 lid? Except for the lid, I have been very happy with this washer. However, if it comes to that, we are discussing going with a different brand washer.
1 Answer Debra, If the lid has craced at the hinge then the lid would need to be replaced on the unit. Read More...
