This is a Whirlpool microwave magnetron. The microwave magnetron is one of the main components that control the heating function in the appliance. If a microwave has suddenly stopped heating but is still turning on normally, the problem could be the magnetron. Use a voltage tester to confirm whether this part is causing the problem. This component is made for installation in a microwave and oven combo where the microwave doubles as a vent hood. To replace this part, begin by unplugging the appliance and removing it from above the oven. Two people will be needed for this repair. This part requires exposure to highly sensitive electrical parts that could cause severe injury. This is a genuine OEM replacement part sourced directly from the manufacturer. This part is compatible with Whirlpool, Magic Chef, Amana, and Maytag appliances.

Floyd, We're not quite clear what you mean by " convection oven touch sensor" If you mean the keypad or button for the convection cycle, you would want to consider a new keypad / membrane assembly 53001135 as the most likely issue, based on your post. Good Luck and Thanks

Hello, This is a magnetron W10859575 issue. When the unit is run without a load to absorb the microwaves or the unit is run with a metallic item inside the unit, the microwaves are reflected back into the magnetron and burns up the magnetron tube. You should not run the unit in this condition as it may cause more damage which may very possibly be unrepairable. The difficulty is not too bad. Remember that it is a two man job to remove and reinstall the microwave if it is mounted over the range. Also use several towels to protect the range top, especially if it is a glass top unit. The only thing you have to worry about is discharging the high voltage capacitor. Unplug the unit and, using a screwdriver with a wooden or electrically rated handle, contact the unit frame first and slide it into the capacitor terminals, one at a time. Most modern microwaves have a built-in circuit for capacitor discharge, but as soon as you depend on this fact, you will be working on one of the units that isn't equipped with such and before you know it,it's time for a road trip to the hospital. Be careful and wear gloves.

Hello Cesar! If the microwave is not heating it could several different parts. The main parts you will need to look at and test is the magnetron W10859575, transformer WPW10170369 and high voltage diode WP8205489. You can test the parts using a multimeter MA-DM1. Here is a link from our free repair forum you can refer to for help with using a multi meter. Hope this helps, thanks! http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html

Hello Dave. You will need to look and see if the magnets on the magnetron are cracked, or if the tip is burnt out. Also test the diode WP8205489 and make sure it is ok. It should only read resistance in one direction. It could also be the H.V. transformer 8172170 causing the unit not to heat. Hope this helps.
