Found a piece of clear plastic under the ice dispenser area.. found out it was the dispenser flap bracket got it fixed now the Ice wont dispense.. cleared all melted ice to make sure it just wasn't jammed. But I don't hear any noise like the motor running when the pad is pressed. Is there a way to check the motor and the pad to see which one is the culprit?
1 Answer KatGV, You can test to make sure that the ice dispenser motor is getting 12 vdc to it and test to make sure the auger motor is getting power. If either are getting power and not operating then this would be a faulty part. You can also test the paddle by going into service diagnostics to see if you get a pass on the paddles. In the freezer area where the auger motor sits water leaked during power outage and corroded the wire connections in the 5 pin connector that connects to the auger motor. Auger Motor part number is 2315546. I need the 5 pin female connector and wires so I can replace or splice to existing wires to reconnect to the auger motor. Scot August 16, 2022 for Model Number gd5vvaxty00 Looking at video not helping on motor removal. My model gd5vvaxty00 does not have any bolts on bottom for removal. Looks like top might be removable but afraid of breaking something if i try and pry up? Any ideas?
1 Answer Scot, Inside the freezer door above the shelf below the shelf under the dispenser, there are 2 screws that hold a cover in place. Once the cover is removed there are 4 screws holding a bracket in place. Remove the bracket and the dispenser motor will come out. Timothy June 10, 2022 for Model Number KSCS25FVMS01 My refrigerator makes ice but it will not dispense ice. It will dispense water. The Auger works and when you push the pad everything seems to work fine except the door will not open to dispense ice, If I manually open door and push the pad, ice will come out. I noticed the motor is a 120V dc motor. I can bump the motor with external dc supply. Does this indicate a faulty control board? If control board, which one? Or is there a separate inverter?
