Mark September 19, 2018 for Model Number MSD2351KES Auger Motor WP67003226 What is the direction of rotation?
1 Answer Mark, Units with a solenoid rotate clockwise. Without a solenoid, they rotate clockwise for cubed and counterclockwise for crushed. Read More...
Wayne January 13, 2015 for Model Number Maytage MZD2665HEW When I select ice cubes on the door control I get ice cubes and when I select crush ice I get cubes.
1 Answer Wayne, Your refrigerator has a reversible auger motor WP67003226 when the motor runs in one direction it dispenses cubes. When crushed ice is selected, the motor reverses and moves the cubes through the chopper blades and crushes the ice. The motor is not reversing and needs to be replaced. Read More...
Sam June 09, 2013 for Model Number JSD2690HEW My ice maker is working just fine producing enough ice, however when it comes to dispensing ice it would dispense cubes but not as crushed. When I try to dispense crushed ice, I hear motor spinning, but it feels like there is no enough power to deliver crushed ice. When I reverse it back to ice cube delivery it would deliver just fine and when I go back to crush mode again, it would deliver just a little of crushed ice perhaps just for one cube of it. Does it sound like the motor needs to be changed? Thanks
1 Answer Sam, Yes the auger motor WP67003226 could be the issue. You should check and make sure the drive yoke WP10114901 and nut WPM0223101 are tight on the motor shaft, and not "slipping" on the shaft. Then you'll need to check the voltage at the auger motor to determine if you have a faulty motor or HVCB dispenser board or wiring issue. Check for 120 VAC across the orange and white wires at the motor, on the Cubed Ice selection Then test for 120 VAC across the blue and white wires in the Crushed Ice selection if the voltage is present on both tests replace the auger motor. If the voltage is incorrect, check for loose wire connections and replace the dispenser control board WP67003817. Read More...
John May 15, 2013 for Model Number MSD2351HEB My Ice maker when crushed was selected mad a load squeel noise but would work ok on dispensing cubes, now it happens on both. I took the bucke assy apart and all seems ok. I held the motor bracket with channel locks and it seems to make the same noise and the gears seem to give and may be stripped. Does this sound right to you folks...Thanks
1 Answer John, Yes if your are getting the squealing noise and the gear is slipping then the auger motor bearings may be going bad and you would want to replace the auger motor WP67003226. Read More...
Brandon January 23, 2012 for Model Number ARSE67RBW My ice bucket fills with ice, when you push the button on the outside of the door it sounds like the motor starts to work but nothing is dispensed. Looks like the plastic bucket is cracked and the round plastic piece in the back may be stripped. The metal coil pops off of the plastic piece even after taking apart and putting pack on correctly. What do I need in order to fix the ice dispensor so that it will work? properly again?
1 Answer Hi Brandon. Remove the ice bin completely. Tape the inner door switch shut. select cubes. Install a glass into the door paddle actuator. Then see if the auger motor is turning. If so then ask for crush and see if the auger reverses rotation and the crush solenoid will lift up harshly. Release the cup. Reach in and see if the auger motor coupling is not stripped on the shaft. If it is it is part # WP10114901. The auger motor is part # 12002089. As far as the auger is concerned , if the auger and front cutter teeth are OK, then you will just remove the front bucket cover part # WP12571606 and replace the rear coupler part # WPD7749401. If anything else concerning the auger is bad then you need to rep[lace the whole assy. part # WP12740302 and drop this completely into your bin. Thank You. Read More...
