Part Number: OEM18031056
Manufacturer Part Number: WP67003226

This auger motor powers the refrigerator ice-dispenser auger to move or crush ice for dispensing, restoring proper ice delivery from the door. It replaces the factory auger motor responsible for auger rotation. What it does:

  • Drives the auger that moves or crushes ice so the dispenser can deliver crushed or cubed ice.
  • Commonly used when the dispenser auger does not turn, dispenses little or no ice, or the motor hums but the auger stays stuck.
  • Restores normal auger rotation and helps reduce abnormal grinding or scraping noises tied to a failed motor.
What's included: One auger motor. Install notes:
  • Disconnect power to the refrigerator before starting any work.
  • Remove ice and the ice bin before accessing the auger motor to avoid spills or blockages.
  • Follow the refrigerator service manual for correct removal and reinstallation; retain mounting hardware and note wire/harness routing.
  • After installation, restore power and operate the dispenser to verify auger rotation and ice flow.

Wayne, Your refrigerator has a reversible auger motor WP67003226 when the motor runs in one direction it dispenses cubes. When crushed ice is selected, the motor reverses and moves the cubes through the chopper blades and crushes the ice. The motor is not reversing and needs to be replaced.

Sam for Model Number JSD2690HEW

My ice maker is working just fine producing enough ice, however when it comes to dispensing ice it would dispense cubes but not as crushed. When I try to dispense crushed ice, I hear motor spinning, but it feels like there is no enough power to deliver crushed ice. When I reverse it back to ice cube delivery it would deliver just fine and when I go back to crush mode again, it would deliver just a little of crushed ice perhaps just for one cube of it. Does it sound like the motor needs to be changed? Thanks

Sam, Yes the auger motor WP67003226 could be the issue. You should check and make sure the drive yoke WP10114901 and nut WPM0223101 are tight on the motor shaft, and not "slipping" on the shaft. Then you'll need to check the voltage at the auger motor to determine if you have a faulty motor or HVCB dispenser board or wiring issue. Check for 120 VAC across the orange and white wires at the motor, on the Cubed Ice selection Then test for 120 VAC across the blue and white wires in the Crushed Ice selection if the voltage is present on both tests replace the auger motor. If the voltage is incorrect, check for loose wire connections and replace the dispenser control board WP67003817.

John, Yes if your are getting the squealing noise and the gear is slipping then the auger motor bearings may be going bad and you would want to replace the auger motor WP67003226.

Hi Brandon. Remove the ice bin completely. Tape the inner door switch shut. select cubes. Install a glass into the door paddle actuator. Then see if the auger motor is turning. If so then ask for crush and see if the auger reverses rotation and the crush solenoid will lift up harshly. Release the cup. Reach in and see if the auger motor coupling is not stripped on the shaft. If it is it is part # WP10114901. The auger motor is part # 12002089. As far as the auger is concerned , if the auger and front cutter teeth are OK, then you will just remove the front bucket cover part # WP12571606 and replace the rear coupler part # WPD7749401. If anything else concerning the auger is bad then you need to rep[lace the whole assy. part # WP12740302 and drop this completely into your bin. Thank You.
