1 Answer Hello Micheal. Sometimes the pulleys wear on the motors and become loose and then this will happen. You will need to order and replace the motor in the unit. Read More...
Nroh August 05, 2012 for Model Number DME3000AYW My dryer will not start when I push the start button at any timer setting. There is no sound. I have checked the door switch, temperature sensor, thermal fuse and heater element. How do I check the motor and the timer or is there something else I should check? The motor was replaced within the last 2 months when it started making a noise when first started. I suppose it could be a bad motor but it is a new Maytag motor. The thermal temperature switch was replaced at the same time because the dryer tended to get the clothes hot when removed. i report this in case it helps direct the answer to the problem. The dryer is 13 years old had has no previous problems. it supports 2 adults. Please help. Thank you
1 Answer Hello Nroh. there are 2 fuses on this model WP307473 and WP33001762. You need to check both fusesd on the unit. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
