This genuine replacement part is a drive motor for dryers. The drive motor is the main engine that allows the dryer drum to rotate. If the drum is no longer spinning properly, the drive motor might need to be replaced. Luckily this is a relatively simple process. To replace the drive motor, begin by unplugging the dryer. Once it is powered off, uninstall the front panel of the dryer by removing the screws that attach it. After that, lift the top panel above the drum so that it is vertical and no longer covering the drum. Then disconnect the wires from the moisture sensors with a screwdriver by pressing down on the locking tab. Once the wires have been removed, lift the drum out from the dryer to gain access to the drive motor. Using a socket wrench, remove the blower wheel from the motor assembly. Then remove the old drive motor by unthreading the mounting screws that attach it. Install the new drive motor and reassemble the dryer. This OEM replacement part is sold individually and is compatible with Whirlpools, Maytag, Kitchenaid, Jenn-Air, Amana, Magic Chef, Admiral, Norge, Roper, and Sears/Kenmore brand dryers.

Nroh for Model Number DME3000AYW

My dryer will not start when I push the start button at any timer setting. There is no sound. I have checked the door switch, temperature sensor, thermal fuse and heater element. How do I check the motor and the timer or is there something else I should check? The motor was replaced within the last 2 months when it started making a noise when first started. I suppose it could be a bad motor but it is a new Maytag motor. The thermal temperature switch was replaced at the same time because the dryer tended to get the clothes hot when removed. i report this in case it helps direct the answer to the problem. The dryer is 13 years old had has no previous problems. it supports 2 adults. Please help. Thank you
