Hello Bob. This is an issue caused by the door liner being made of plastic. You see, the issue is caused by the plastic door liner changing shape by a small amount and this makes the shaft too short. Believe me, this steel shaft cannot strip. When the motor is setting effectively further away, this makes the shaft slip because it isn't meshing fully. I remove the two 1/4 inch hex headed screws and set the plastic "keeper" and spring aside. Pull the shaft up, out of the hole, (you can grab it with needle nosed pliers). Wrap electrical tape, sticky side out, around itself about 20 times or so and shove the wad of tape into the bottom end of the shaft. It may take a few trys to get the length right, but when you get it right, the shaft will mesh on both ends and it will dispense again. This is one of two ways to correct this issue. The other one is to replace the freezer door assembly.

Regarding the auger motor you sell for this appliance ap5985150 my original had a 4 wire plastic FEMALE connector to the freezer circuitry. This too will have to be replaced and i noted that part is not available. My question is this: I notice on the photos of your motor that the electrical input appears to be female, it makes me wonder whether it is indeed identical to the one i am replacing which appears to have MALE wire studs at the connection point. And is it intended for a 4 wire connection? Thanks for answering the question about the auger drive shaft tho i still dont understand how a new motor is going to turn it, since it doesnt turn manually. Thanks again.

Robert, This motor has male connector and not female and the only way to get the harness you would have to replace the door of the unit.

Randy, The brown wire will be pin 1 the Red wire will be pin number 2, the gray wire will be pin number 5 and the blue wire will be the last pin. This is the wiring for the ice dispenser motor.

Louis, If you got all the ice cleared and the motor is still not turning then the motor would be the issue and would need to be replaced. The motor part number for your unit is W10822635. If there was ice built up in the ice chute you will also want to check the door of the dispenser to make sure that there is no air leak.

When I lost power to refrigerator the ice dispenser stop working, while water and ice flapper door works good when press for ice you hear small click from top of fridge (where the compressor) like relay. But the motor is not turning reading 20 VDC pin 1,2 ( red ,brown ) no voltage between Blue, Gray. Replaced the dispenser motor was no help. The motor connector was corroded had to replaced few pin and connections all good. Last month the freezer display when blank but ice and water light and filter was working. This fridge only 3 years old seem like when l lose power some thing goes wrong. help will be appreciate.
