Bob R February 02, 2018 for Model Number ED5LVAXVQ00 My dispenser makes a running sound but nothing turns. The drive to the ice auger does not turn and does not turn by hand. When I set the ice auger on I can turn the auger by hand. The motor shaft looks fine.
1 Answer Hello Bob. This is an issue caused by the door liner being made of plastic. You see, the issue is caused by the plastic door liner changing shape by a small amount and this makes the shaft too short. Believe me, this steel shaft cannot strip. When the motor is setting effectively further away, this makes the shaft slip because it isn't meshing fully. I remove the two 1/4 inch hex headed screws and set the plastic "keeper" and spring aside. Pull the shaft up, out of the hole, (you can grab it with needle nosed pliers). Wrap electrical tape, sticky side out, around itself about 20 times or so and shove the wad of tape into the bottom end of the shaft. It may take a few trys to get the length right, but when you get it right, the shaft will mesh on both ends and it will dispense again. This is one of two ways to correct this issue. The other one is to replace the freezer door assembly. Read More...
Robert F November 25, 2017 for Model Number KSSP48QTS00 Regarding the auger motor you sell for this appliance ap5985150 my original had a 4 wire plastic FEMALE connector to the freezer circuitry. This too will have to be replaced and i noted that part is not available. My question is this: I notice on the photos of your motor that the electrical input appears to be female, it makes me wonder whether it is indeed identical to the one i am replacing which appears to have MALE wire studs at the connection point. And is it intended for a 4 wire connection? Thanks for answering the question about the auger drive shaft tho i still dont understand how a new motor is going to turn it, since it doesnt turn manually. Thanks again.
1 Answer Robert, This motor has male connector and not female and the only way to get the harness you would have to replace the door of the unit. Read More...

Randy K September 12, 2016 for Model Number KSSC48QTS02 The harness connected to my ice dispenser motor (W10822635)corroded and the wires are just hanging. I have to solder on a new connector. I don't know the pin out for this motor to reconnect the wires correctly. There are six pins on the motor and only 4 wires. Do you have the wiring to make the appropriate connections?
1 Answer Randy, The brown wire will be pin 1 the Red wire will be pin number 2, the gray wire will be pin number 5 and the blue wire will be the last pin. This is the wiring for the ice dispenser motor. Read More...
Peter B August 04, 2016 for Model Number KSSP36QTS02 I'm having the same problem with my Kitchen Aid refrigerator. The connector to Augur Motor Part W10271507 is corroded and wires fell off of the connector. I need the harness to repair. The door assembly seems the only way to get the harness, but the door assembly is not available. Do they sell the connector that clicks into the motor? I need this wire connector.
1 Answer Hello Peter. The part needed is the freezer door. It has been discontinued. There is no other way to get the connector. Sorry. Read More...

Louis Perna December 14, 2015 Whirlpool model ED5PHAXST02--Motor would run, but not dispense ice--Motor stopped running--Removed ice bin & discovered that ice was frozen solid around the connecting point at bottom of bin & top of auger--Assume that by trying to clear that motor burned out--If that is the case it looks like the replacement motor is W10822635--Prior to ordering this part, how do I confirm that the motor is in fact no good? Is there any other possibility?
1 Answer Louis, If you got all the ice cleared and the motor is still not turning then the motor would be the issue and would need to be replaced. The motor part number for your unit is W10822635. If there was ice built up in the ice chute you will also want to check the door of the dispenser to make sure that there is no air leak. Read More...
