John September 15, 2015 for Model Number kenmore refrigerator The ice maker is not getting water to make ice.
1 Answer Hello John. Make sure the freezer is between 0° and 5°. You need to check and see if there is power going to the water valve when the icemaker cycles. If so, replace the water valve on the unit. If not, or the icemaker does not cycle, you will need to replace the icemaker on the unit. Also, check and make sure the fill tube on the unit is not frozen and clogged. If so, replace the water valve and thaw out the fill tube. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
Terry C. July 15, 2015 for Model Number invensys n-86-sv I'm looking to replace my n-86-sv will this AP4362516 replace it. It looks like the only difference is the angle one of the lines connects.
1 Answer Hello Terry, I'm sorry but we cannot recommend a part that is not recommended by the appliance manufacturer since we have no way to know if it is a satisfactory replacement or not. It would have helped to have the model number of your appliance but we still cannot recommend a part that the manufacturer is not an approved part for your units' repair. Thank you for your patience and understanding in this matter. Read More...
Ronnie June 04, 2015 for Model Number KUIS155HBL3 not sure can't seem to find it. its a kitchenaid undercounter ice maker with a smart water valve and optional waste water pump. The ice maker will make ice just fine for about 1/2 a day to maybe 2 days then the entire unit shuts down. no panel lights or ice bin light. So far the board , the ice bin thermistor and wiring harness has been replaced. the unit shows to have main power to the unit , the transformer both in and out, and power to the control board. I'm wondering if the smart valve is being told that the water level is too high and shuts the unit down completely like that. Just seems unlikely that the control lights and the bin light would go off even on a error .
1 Answer Hello Ronnie. You will need to check the power coming to the unit. Make sure it is correct and make sure the house breaker is not failing. Only thing left is a board issue. But if it is new, I would start with these other test first. Read More...
David May 12, 2015 There was a large amount of water that came from the ice maker and come out the door where the cubes come out and made a large puddle in floor. After that the ice maker still goes thru cycle but no water gets to ice maker. I took line off back of fridge going to ice maker and there was no water there but you can select the water button in the door and there is water there. This is a Maytag fridge.
1 Answer Hello David. If you get no water from the water valve when the icemaker cycles, you will need to order and replace the water valve on the unit. Read More...
Allan May 05, 2015 for Model Number KUIS15NRTB2 My under counter kitchen aid KUIS15NRTB2 ice maker stopped making ice the other day. Nothing. Zip. It had been working perfectly for several years. The cleaning panel light on the far right is lit red. I tried doing a cleaning cycle but it did not work. Starts making sounds but never moves any water. It does not move water under normal operation either. I'm guessing a water valve somewhere has stopped working. Looking thru the parts list I see valve part number AP4362516. Is that the most likely culprit? Thx
1 Answer Allan, While the water valve could be the issue, you will want to check the thermistors on the unit to make sure that they are good. If the thermistors check ok then the water valve sounds like it would be the issue. Read More...
Tom February 14, 2015 for Model Number Whirlpool Under Cabinet Ice Maker Looking at replacing the Invensys N-86 SVN Valve , 2313741 K-76381 The leak is from where the supply line comes into the valve, the way it was sitting on floor, to close to floor it did not fit in straight up and down, but flexed to one side. Can the valve parts be replaced without changing the electrical parts. it is the compression fitting that is leaking, electrics work fine.
1 Answer Tom, Unfortunately No. The fill valve has to be replaced as a complete part/unit. There are no individual parts available. But, it sounds like you could shorten and reroute the tubing, and properly insert it into the compression/john guess fitting and solve the problem, if the interior parts haven't been damaged. Brad August 24, 2014 for Model Number GI1500XHS8 Greetings, my Whirlpool ice machine is leaking water into the floor. The leak is from the left side when facing the unit. the unit may run all day with out leaking but it is now to the point it will leak at least once within 24 hrs. Often more than that. I can turn the unit off an back on and then here water draining. The unit is 8yrs old and I don't know if this is time to buy a new one or try and fix this one. Not sure if a valve or pump would be the fix, or if it is worth doing on an older unit. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks.
1 Answer Brad, If you remove the panel at the bottom front of the unit, you will see the water valve in which you will want to check this for leaking. It may only be leaking a small amount but can cause it to leak out in the left corner sporatically. The part number for the valve is W10801996. Read More...
1 Answer Will, There is no video showing how to replace the water valve on a icemachine. For this part you will need to shut the water off and remove the lower cover on the front of the unit. Once removed there will be 2 screws holding the valve in place. Remove the screws and disconnect the wire harness going to it. Once this is done, push on the yellow ring around the tubing on the valve and pull on the tube. This will pull the tube out of the valve. You would do the same thing on the other tubing and install the new one. Read More...
Nick March 05, 2014 for Model Number KUIC15PRTS0 This under counter icemaker has had 4 W10217917 valves in it since 2008. The first was replaced under a recall for potential leakage. The replacement valve split and flooded the basement after 1-1/2 years. Two other replacements have also cracked and flooded the floor in a period of a few years. You mentioned in another question that these valves had a tendency to split. Has that been fixed yet? This is crazy.
1 Answer Hello Nick, Since we are not the part or appliance manufacturer, the only information we have is feedback from our customers. If an ongoing issue exists with your unit, you should contact the manufacturer with the information and it is possible to receive compensation from them. We have not been notified of another re-design of this valve. Read More...
Shelton December 08, 2013 I have a Kenmore icemaker, I replaced the water valve because it was leaking. valve part# AP432516 now it will not stop running water and it's not making ice. Is the inlet on top of the valve or the bottom? I have put the water lines in both ways one way it will not stop running one way and the other way I get no water at all.
1 Answer Hello Shelton. Inlet is on the top and outlet is on the bottom of the valve. You may have a bad control board on the unit causing the issues you are having. Read More...
