Stephen May 12, 2017 for Model Number kuic15prts1 I was replacing the inlet valve and the gray tube broke (not the clear water line) when disconnecting from the old valve. Can you tell me what part number that is and whether it is difficult to replace?
1 Answer Hello Stephen, You would need to order WPW10136146 since the end of it appears to be gray. Read More...
Javier R. May 09, 2016 for Model Number Kenmore Ice Maker 10689583701 I have replaced the part number AP6017258 three times and it keeps failing. Thanks
1 Answer Hello Javier, You should first verify the correct polarity to the appliance. If this is correct, the water may need to be filtered or the control board may need to be replaced, depending on the type of valve failure. Read More...
C.R. April 15, 2016 for Model Number Water valve w10217917 How do I disconnect and connect the water tubing? Where do I press? Thanks
1 Answer Hello C.R, To remove the water lines from this valve WPW10217917, you will need to follow the directions for the John Guess Fittings as follows: To remove: Push line in and hold ring in, then, while holding ring in, pull line out. To re-install, push line in until resistance is met. Push harder until line "pops" in another 1/4 inch or so. Pull on line without touching the ring to seat seal. Read More...
David April 14, 2016 for Model Number GI15NDXTS0 My ice machine quit making ice. I saw that there was no water flowing over the evaporator plate and when I told this to Appliance Parts Pros, I was told I needed to replace the valve. I did this and water started running over the evaporator plate but the water never shut off and ice never formed. When I shut the water off from the source after the bin was full, the machine made ice and the system seemed to work. If I turned the water source on, filled the bin, then turned the water source off, it continued to make ice. I told Appliance Parts Pros what was going on and was told the valve they sent is probably defective, so they sent another valve. When I installed the second valve, the same problem occurred. Water constantly runs unless I shut it off at the source. Do I have another defective valve or is there another problem. Thanks
1 Answer Hello David. It sounds like the sensor WPW10548509 is bad and will need to be replaced. Read More...
Butch April 13, 2016 for Model Number kuic15nlxs I am not getting water flow from my water inlet valve , I replaced valve and still no water flow , I disconnected in coming line and have good flow , solenoid checks good , what do I need to check
1 Answer Butch, You will want to check the water line between the water valve and the reservoir to make sure that the fill tube is not frozen. If this checks ok then you will want to test to make sure that the water valve is getting 120 vac to it. If there is power to the valve but no water flowing in then you may have received a defective valve. If there is no power then the issue will be with the control board. Also check the wiring to make sure that there is no damaged wiring. Read More...
David March 17, 2016 for Model Number GI15NDXTS0 I am trying to remove the valve part W01217917 but can't figure out how to disconnect the 2 water connections. I tried just pulling out the tubes but they won't come out easily and I don't want to break anything. I don't see anything to unscrew or unlatch, so I can't figure out how to disconnect them. Thanks
1 Answer Hello David. You press in on the compression ring the tubes slide into and while holding it pressed, it will allow the tube to be pulled out. Read More...
Howard J January 18, 2016 for Model Number W10217917 under counter ice maker On my whirpool under counter ice maker I have replace 2 w10217917 water inlet controls valve in the last 3 months. After checking with my vom meter I have found the coil on the valve is opening up. I measured my input AC voltage it between 121vac to 123.1 vac. My question is this just bad luck or what would cause the coil to open up? From the electrical drawing it looks like the coil operating voltage is 120vac. The ice maker works great when the valve replace but has only lasted 4 weeks before going out. Any help on this would be great I have a new valve but worry about burning it up. Thanks for the help
1 Answer Howard, The first thing with this issue would be that the valve is 120 vac and typically should not go out that rapidly. You will want to check for voltage spikes. This is a common reason for rapid part failure. It would be best to have the power company come do a power test and see if there are surges getting to the unit. Frequent power outages even if quick surges can cause this issue. Read More...
Jesse December 31, 2015 for Model Number Frigidaire Ice Machine I have just replaced the Whirlpool W10217917 Valve on my Frigidaire and now the ice plate is not getting cold enough to make ice. Water is running through system. Would the new valve be causing this to happen? Thank you
1 Answer Jesse, If the reservoir is full and the water is being circulated up to and over the chill plate, then no the water valve is not the problem. You will need to check the evaporator thermistor, and the reversing valve on the back of the ice machine. If the reversing valve is stuck open, the evaporator wont cool and make a slab of ice. If the thermistor has been dislodged or is out of calibration, the control can't tell if the evaporator is cooling and will not produce an ice slab. Please include a model number on your next post, we can assist you better and more efficiently if you do. Thanks Read More...
Jesse December 10, 2015 for Model Number Frigidaire Under Counter Ice Maker I had a leak int the W10217917 Valve in my Frigidaire Ice maker. Replaced the part and now the inlet hose is making loud vibration noice. I can hook up the old one, no noise but leak. New one no leak but noise. Getting ready to purchase another W10217917 Valve. Any thoughts?
1 Answer Jesse, It is possible for a valve to have a chatter which would be defective. You will want to go ahead and replace the valve. Read More...
Lee V. October 06, 2015 for Model Number KUIC18NNTS0 Unit was working fine and next morning the circulation pump was squealing. I turned unit off and back on. It sounded like a valve clicked open like it usually does when it fills with water but no water. It did this every time I tried turning off and back on. I manually poured water in the reservoir and the pump stopped making noise and circulated the water fine. It seems like it is not getting any water. I recently cleaned with ice maker with approved cleaner and it had worked fine the two days prior. Thanks
1 Answer Hello Lee, This is most likely the water valve WPW10217917 but can also be the control WPW10141364. Read More...
