Hello Herb, This can be caused by the Power Control Board 61511 or the Power Supply Board 3170267. I'm sorry but these parts have been discontinued by the manufacturer and no satisfactory substitutions have been provided.

Darlene, The most likely cause for the unit not maintaining temp will be a faulty oven sensor which is part number WPW10181986.

My oven will reach set temp but often will not re-heat even though the display says that its still at set temp . If turn the oven off (not unplugg) and back on, the display will show the cooler temp and again heat to reach it . Please advise Charlie

Oven preheats properly, after preheat cycle the heat light on panel comes on oven calling for heat. Oven re-lights momentarily and then goes out and will not re-light. I let the oven sit for awhile and restarted with the same results.

James, Based on this information it sounds like the oven safety valve would be the issue in which when the coils inside the valve get hot then they will close off and not reopen. The part number for the safety valve is WPW10293048.

Hi, My Whirlpool oven comes on and heats up fine but after its up to its warm up temp it will not re-ignite. I hear clicking and the flame comes on for a short time but then quickly goes out. This is happening with both burners (top and bottom). I have replaced the temp sensor and there was no improvement. Thanks for any help you can give!

Hello Steve. Make sure both burners are clean. If so, test the gas safety valve WPW10293048. If it is good, replace the control board WPW10424330. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Trying to figure out if the Oven Bake Burner with Spark Igniter #8190618 will fit my Whirlpool Model SF357PEKQ-1 range. My gas oven will initially preheat to the proper temp desired, but will not consistently reignite to keep it at the proper temp. Thanks.

There are times when my whirlpool oven wouild not light, and then other days it works fine. There's proper voltage all the time, and gas top burners work, so it's not a gas supply issue. There are multiple neighbors with the same issue, ovens work, then they stop, then they work again. very frustrating.

Tom, You will want to check the oven safety valve and make sure that the valve is not faulty. To do this you will need to check for resistance of 216 ohms from bake to common and from common to broil. If outside of this resistance then the valve is faulty. If this checks ok then would likely be the spark module or the control board causing the issue.

Broiler, and top work, Oven burner does not light. You hear and see spark, gas valve open after a couple of clicks, closes off. I tested resistance at gas valve and get 216 ohms on both oven and broiler. VDC on both 10 VDC. Checked readings on DSI module and all are as specified in tech sheet in the back of the stove. I can light the oven burner manually while the unit is sending out the spark, it lights for about 3 seconds, and the gas gets shut off. Burner, or gas valve ????

Miguel, You do want to check the burner, make sure there is no corrosion, or debris in the burner tube. Check and make sure the range is properly grounded and there are no loose connections. If all's OK replace the DSI spark module WPW10331686. Sounds like the safety "lock out circuit in the module is being energized and locking out the gas valve.
