Carl, The F3 E1 error code is for a Water Level System Error. The ACU has detected an out-of-range pressure signal. Check the connections from tub to air trap, air trap to pressure hose, and pressure hose to water level sensor. Check to see if the pressure hose is pinched, kinked, plugged, or leaking air.

Sam, Based on the information provided the F9E1 code is for a long drain: Possible Causes: Verify that connector J17 and pump harness connections are fully inserted.• Verify that the drain hose is not blocked or kinked.• Make sure the drain hose is not sealed into the drain pipe, and that there is an air gap for ventilation.• Make sure the drain hose height does not exceed 96" (2.4 m). • Check/clean drain pump filter of foreign objects. • Check connections from tub to air trap, air trap to pressure hose, and pressure hose to water level sensor. Amy, You will want to test to see if the drain pump is getting power to it when the unit calls for draining. If there is no power then the control board will be the issue and if there is power then the drain pump will be the issue.

Jodi for Model Number MHW5500FC0

Receive the E01 F09 error code. Took off all drain hoses and made sure they were clear. Emptied and cleaned out the drain pump filter. Will work for a cycle or two on rapid wash, but will throw the code out again. I watched the cycle and it appears to fill with water and drain fine. Cleared out drains within the rubber ring and the dispenser. It makes a very loud kind of grinding noise when it starts to drain and enter the spin cycle. The rapid wash will work occasionally, but normal will never complete. The white box on the drain pump gets very hot and you can not touch it after one load. Is the drain pump or water level sensor may be bad and it needs to be replaced? The washer is only 3 years old.

1 Answer

Jodi, based on the information provided there is likely either debris in the drain pump impeller or the windings in the drain pump are failing. The drain pump should be removed and inspected for any debris in between the impeller and the drain pump housing and cleared if there is any. If there is not any debris, then the issue would be with the drain pump itself and the entire drain assembly WPW10605427 would need to be replaced.

Hello Adam, yes the control board can generate that code if the water level does not change once the drain pump is running. If no water is being pumped out, access the drain pump cleanout port, check for any debris preventing drain out.
