Jim March 24, 2014 Sears Kenmore fridge; made by Whirlpool. Crisper center rail has broken 4 times. Fridge is not yet 1-year old. Others on this site are reporting the same issue. Clearly a design problem. These appliances should be recalled.

B136CAL3 - the refer is not too useful without this part - when the crisper drawers sit on top of the large pullout drawer the large drawer won't open properly (don't get me started on the bad design of THIS drawer) so now I am forced to store my veggies and fruit in bags in the spaces where the bins should be. Bruce February 25, 2013 for Model Number MF D 2562 VEM0 Why does this model number not show up on any lists of Maytag refrigerator models? This is a Maytag 2-door refrigerator with a freezer drawer on the bottom, purchased at Home Depot in about 2008 or2009. The model and serial numbers are clearly visible on a plate in the inside upper right corner of the refrigerator. I need a new center support rail for the vegetable crisper drawers, but since I cannot verify this model I'm not certain that I'm ordering the correct part.

We must have gone through about 5 parts so far, each one breaking in the front. Is the manufacturor goinig to redesign this part, maybe make it metal?

If there are any design complaints they should be directed to the manufacturer because if they get a lot of complaints, this alerts them that there is an issue and they are more likely to address it. Lou November 15, 2011 for Model Number MBB2256GES Problem with center crisper rail. Front tab keeps snapping off. Unit purchased in 2003. No problems with center crisper rail until 6 months ago when front tab on rail snapped off. Replacement part failed in exactly the same manner after approx 4 months. A second replacement part failed in exactly the same manner within 6 weeks. Loading pattern on our part has not changed. Could not find any mechanical reason for failure. Looking for insight into solution other than replacing part every 2 months. Thank you
1 Answer Lou, Are you sure the metal support rail is inserted into the channel on the underside of the crisper frame WP12227303WD.
