Stephen for Model Number GI6SARXXF02

I finally received the water reservoir W10502641 that I ordered, after first receiving the wrong part last week. I find that the end of the tube that is to be connected to the water inlet valve has a brass collar and steel screw connector, not the plain tube end that is supposed to insert into the water inlet valve. Is this the correct part? Am I meant to cut off the metal connectors and insert the tube in the valve? The metal connector is not shown in the picture of the reservoir on the website.

Hello Stephen. That end does not go to the water valve. It connects to your house supply coming to the refrigerator.
