Holly October 27, 2012 I have just replaced my basket lid, but was wondering why my old lid warped? It seems to me this part should be able to withstand the conditions for which it was produced? What is the warranty for your parts?
1 Answer Hello Holly, You have to think about the chemical reaction and the proper use of the appliance. You see, when the water temperature reaches 140°F, a chemical reaction takes place that attacks the food particles. If the unit has been oversoaped or the dishes were rinsed instead of scraping off the excess, (or both), the chemical reaction still takes place but without the food particles or too much chemical reaction from oversoaping, there is nothing to occupy the excess chemical reaction. This excess chemical reaction will attack the next easiest thing to attack. This is patterns on plates, the rubber seals in the dishwasher, cheaper glassware, and items such as the plastic silverware basket and lid. I guess the lesson to be learned is that the dishwasher should be thought of as a chemistry experiment. Be stingy with the soap and too lazy to rinse the dishes. A good wash result occurs with food particles. Don't go overboard, (the dishwasher cannot handle a scoop of mashed potatoes for example). Scrapping the dishes provides enough food particles to cause a satisfactory wash result. So, in a nutshell, don't oversoap and don't pre-rinse. Also be sure to use a quality detergent. The cheap brands are mostly bubbles and they just float on top of the water and don't do any cleaning. Following these simple guidelines will produce the best result from the unit. Read More...

Lisa M. April 18, 2012 for Model Number Kud102rwho I need a new silverware basket this is the second time it has rotted and the silverware falls through. What can I do to keep this from happening again?
1 Answer Hello Lisa, The reason this is happening is one of two reasons, if not both. First off, the dishes are cleaned by a chemical reaction. When the water reaches 140°F, a chemical reaction takes place that attacks the food particles. Think of the chemical reaction as being lazy. The easiest thing for it to attack is the food particles. If the dishes have been rinsed and there are no food particles present, it will attack the next easiest thing to attack, (the rubber seals in the dishwasher, patterns on plates, greys the silverware, etches the glassware, the plastic parts of the racks, and the silverware basket). Part two is over soaping. Too much soap for the amount of food particles will cause the same effect. A combination of the two amplifies the whole effect. According to the design engineers, you need three meals worth of dishes, scraped, not rinsed, to have enough food particles to occupy the chemical reaction. Also you should only use one teaspoon of detergent per grain of water hardness. I certainly hope this was useful information for you as it took me over 20 years in the field to put all of this together. Let me know if I can answer any more questions for you. Read More...
Lisa M. April 18, 2012 for Model Number Kud102rwho I need a new silverware basket this is the second time it has rotted and the silverware falls through. And also what can I do to keep this from happening again?
1 Answer Lisa, model KUD102RWHO is an invalid model number. I found models KUDI02IRWH0, KUDI02CRWH0, and KUDI02FRWH0 (I instead of 1, 0 instead of an O, and a missing letter between 2 and R), all models use the same silverware basket part number WP8531288. Too much detergent and the calcium deposits in the water can cause the silverware basket to keep failing. Thanks! Read More...

Linda M January 02, 2012 for Model Number Kude40fxsso The grids to hold individual pieces of silverware that come with the silverware basket in this model (kude40fx) are not functional. Slots are too small and the entire grid is always falling into the basket as the design does not allow for secure fitting. I have seen this part (AP4340921) in another friends DW and it is a much better design. Will it fit in my model DW?
1 Answer Linda, The WPW10190415 silverware basket, is slightly smaller than the W11767095 approx 1 inch in length and 1/2 in. inn basket heigth, so it will fit and work in your dishwasher. Thanks and Good Luck Read More...
