The Suspension Rod Kit is an OEM replacement part for Whirlpool washing machines, designed to provide support and stability to the washer drum. This kit includes four suspension rods that connect the washing machine drum to the frame, allowing for controlled movement and reducing vibration during the spin cycle. These rods play a critical role in absorbing the motion of the washer drum, ensuring smooth operation and preventing excessive noise or movement that could damage the machine or affect its performance.

Causes of these issues often stem from normal wear and tear, as the suspension rods can become worn out or damaged over time. Heavy or uneven loads can also put extra stress on the rods, leading to premature failure.

Symptoms of a bad part:

  • Excessive noise or vibration during operation
  • Shaking or movement of the washer
  • Unevenly washed clothes or excessive wrinkles

This OEM Whirlpool part can also be used on Maytag, KitchenAid, Jenn-Air, Amana, Magic Chef, Admiral, Norge, Roper, and Kenmore/Sears brand appliances.

Hello Ronnie, check if the inner tub is tipped to one side slightly, it is secured on the drive block by a spanner nut. If off-center the washer will be unbalanced in spin and gets worse with a clothes load. Open the washer top , remove the outer tub top cover and rotate the inner tub and watch the gap between it and the inside of the outer tub.
