Michelle June 22, 2012 for Model Number ATW4475VQ0 My washer won't spin out unless I lift the lid, hear it click and then close the lid. Then spins out perfectly. The water does drain out even if I don't lift the lid. If I don't lift the lid, it makes a groaning noise like it wants to turn but can't. This happens for both the wash and rinse cycles. How can I fix? Is it just a lid switch?
1 Answer Hello Michelle, If the machine is trying to spin but can't, I would suspect the clutch 285785 is slipping. If it won't do anything at all, I would suspect the timer WPW10199989. Read More...
Joseph June 20, 2012 for Model Number LSW9700PQ0 My lid switch is ok & still works. But the bottom part of clip towards rear that snaps it tight to machine broke. Do I have to replace the whole switch ? I have it rigged with a small wedge of wood, taped to keep the switch in the on mode (machine agitates or spins with lid up as it does with lid down) since it will not attach to machine tightly to accept the small metal rod under lid that actuates it underneath. Thank You.
Styleplus May 23, 2012 for Model Number WTW6650SQ0 Do you have a video that show how to replace the lid switch?
1 Answer Styleplus, First we need a proper model number, but based on the basic model number (WTW66*****), you probably don't have a "lid switch" on this style unit, you most likely have a lid latch assembly WPW10619844, But we need to be sure, in order to assist you properly. Thanks Read More...

Lou December 09, 2011 for Model Number MTW5900TW0 I ordered several parts for my washing machine and started first with replacing lid switch. BEFORE the machine would fill with water and pump the water out...you could hear a clicking sound as it went thru the cycle but would not agitate or spin. AFTER putting new lid switch in it will fill with water and then NOTHING. Could I possibly have gotten a bad switch? Please HELP! My machine is now full of water and will not do anything where at least before I could soak clothes and drain them for the dryer.
1 Answer Hi Lou. The Lt. lid hinge has to engage/disengage with the lid switch every time the lid opens ands closes. Have you got this set correct. Is the lid switch plugged in. It is common that it will get installed and overlooked plugging in. Is the house supply 120 vac on and verified, the breaker not tripped. Remove the lid switch and toggle the lid along with reinstalling the switch against the hinge lever together. If you can rattle the switch it is possible that you have got a defective one. Try to bypass (jump)the gray and the white together by stripping a 3" length of wire off @ 3/8 " on each end and use the insulated wire to insert into the terminals as the connector is unplugged from the switch and see if it works now. Please call A.P.P. Call Center 1-877-477-7278 if you need to exchange a part. Check to see if there is 120 vac going to the back of the white connector sandwiched on the side of the timer. You may have a bad connection there. Let us know if we can assist further. The wiring diagram is behind the control panel. Thank You. Read More...
