Hello Bruce, If the unit will start when you hold in the door switch, press the start button, and reach inside and manually spin the drum, the motor has a bad start winding.

M. Lucas, Normally with this type of issue, it may have been an issue of the power supply having a weak connection and causing the unit to spark initially and the second time pushing back would have created the spark that finally burnt through the wire. Weak wire most likely.
