Dana March 23, 2011 for Model Number keye700twho I installed the thermal cutoff and now have heat and a left over high-limit thermostat. The only thermostat I can see - on my dryer and in the parts diagram - that mounts on the heater element housing is 347296 lower thermostat, that mounts below the thermal cutoff just below the heating element. Is it possible this model does not make use of a high limit thermostat?
1 Answer Hello Dana! The high limit thermostat is mounted below the thermal fuse. It is #15 in the diagram. Hope this helps! Diagram link: http://www.appliancepartspros.com/partsearch/frame_diagram.aspx?diagram_id=28185230&pkw_=basket&model_id=235894&NewWindow=1 Read More...
1 Answer Hello. You can test these with a multi-meter MA-DM1. They should read closed for continuity. Hope this helps. Read More...
Dana March 21, 2011 for Model Number KEYE700TWHO Planning to purchase thermal cut off. It does not register any continuity with tester. Have tried operating dryer on every setting, tumbles, but absolutely no heat. 1. Does kit come with installation instructions? I do not see where the high-limit thermostat installs. 2. In your answer above you warn about the cycling thermostat being bad. Is there a way to test or is it wise just to replace?
1 Answer Hello Dana. The high limit installs on the side of the heater housing. You can test the cycling thermostat when the heater is working. It should turn the heater on and off. Hope this helps. Read More...
Guest March 19, 2011 for Model Number KEYE700TAL0 Just tested and need to replace Thermal cutoff part # 279769, but I didn't pay close enough attention when I took it out as far as the wiring. One wire says "H1" the other says "H2". I don't see any corresponding numbers or other indicators on the part itself and can't seem to fnid schematics online. Can you tell me which goes where?
1 Answer Hello. These are closed cut-offs. As long as the wires are attached, it does not matter which terminal they are on. Hope this helps. Read More...
Guest March 14, 2011 for Model Number le5800xsw0 Replaced both the thermal cut off, and high limit now the thermal cut off is bad again. What would do this? Vents are clean good air flow.
1 Answer Hello. You may have a bad cycling thermostat. WP694674 If these are bad and the heater does not cycle on and off, the thermal fuse will blow. Hope this helps. Read More...
