Mboomtown May 21, 2011 for Model Number 110.96591240 I cant get the dryer to come on. The light comes on when I close the door. All the fuses check good for continuity. The push to start button checks good when I push it. I was told it had a bad fuse. I find two on the heating ele. and two on the exhaust duct. I cant find the diag. of unit. is there another fuse I'm missing. Also their is a ceramic device on the heating ele. with a wire connecting the two terminals but its not connected to anything else. Just connected to itself. Strange.
1 Answer Hello mboomtown. You will need to test the thermal fuse WP3390719. It is located on the blower housing, and should read closed for continuity. You can test this with a multi-meter MA-DM1. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. Hope this helps. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
Wldncrzymom May 19, 2011 for Model Number ler4624bq1 My dryer starts heats and runs for about 15 mins. When I try to restart, it buzzes after some time will start again. Do you think it is my thermal cut-off?
1 Answer Hello Wldncrzymom. From what your describing, it sounds like the motor 279827 is bad and will need to be replaced. Hope this helps. Read More...
Spanky May 16, 2011 for Model Number LE5650XMW1 Another suggestion to add to a response. "Be sure the temperature setting is not on set on 'Air Fluff'". My wife had switched the temp setting to "air fluff" and failed to set it back. Not looking for the obvious I checked all typical ailments and found nothing. Thankfully I noticed the temp setting before I started purchasing any replacement parts. Thank you for all your help anyway. Very appreciated.
Spanky May 16, 2011 for Model Number LE5650XMW1 I have checked continuity on all fuses and heating element. I am still not getting any heat from the dryer. Why?
1 Answer Hello Spanky. Check and make sure you have 240 volts coming to the dryer. This can cause the dryer not to heat. If the voltage is there, you will need to test and see where your loosing the voltage from. You can test this with a multi-meter MA-DM1. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. Hope this helps. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
Spanky May 16, 2011 for Model Number LE5650XMW1 I am having a heating issue with my dryer. Will I still get continuity on the terminals if I have removed the wires but haven't removed the fuses from the dryer itself?
1 Answer Hello Spanky. Yes, you will get continuity with the fuses in the dryer, you do not need to remove them from the dryer. They should read closed for continuity, when good. You can test this with a multi-meter MA-DM1. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. Hope this helps. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
Janice May 13, 2011 for Model Number Maytag PYE1000AZW I need to replace the thermal fuse on my dryer. The part number on it is L300F but there is no reference to that part number in your search for parts on your website. I have found a LA - 1053 which "looks" like the one that I had to take off.. Can you tell me if this fuse has replaced the other, and if the LA-1053 will work on my Performa Maytag dryer Model number PYE1000AZW... Thank you
1 Answer Hello Janice. LA-1053 is the correct fuse kit according to the model number you provided. Hope this helps. Read More...
Vince C. May 07, 2011 for Model Number 11068972890 On bulkhead diagram, what resistance should I read with wires disconnected, for #59 non resetable cutoff fuse, for #42 thermister, for #47 thermal cutoff fuse, for #48 high limit thermostat, for#14 heating element.
1 Answer Hello Vince. The cut-off fuses, high limit thermostat, and the heating element, should read closed for continuity. The thermister should read around 10K ohms at room temperature. You can test this with a multi-meter MA-DM1. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. Hope this helps. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
Tim March 28, 2011 for Model Number GEQ8811LW0 I have two thermostats one is part number 8318268 (Number 42 on the bulk head diagrahm.) It has two large terminals that when I put the ohme meter on it reads 0. The two small terminals in the middle will not give a reading at all. The other thermostate is the thermal cut-off fuse to 360 degrees one of the two fuses on the diagram number 47 with the part number 3977394 It also gives no reading at all. Does this mean it is bad or do I need to set the Ohme meter to a different setting. The meter that I am using is a CEN-TECH digital multimeter.
1 Answer Hello Tim. You will need to replace the thermal cut-off kit. Check your vent and make sure it is clear from clogs and kinks. Hope this helps. Read More...
