Jayson February 08, 2016 for Model Number WED8300SW0 My dryer error code F-01 pop up on my Whirlpool Duet Sport so I unplugged it for 30 minutes and plugged back and now, no codes popped up but it won't start. Where do I start for diagnosing problem?
1 Answer Hello Jayson, The F-01 fault code indicates a primary control failure so you should begin by checking all connections to the control. If no problem is found, replace the control WPW10111606. Read More...
Kevin December 17, 2015 for Model Number WED9150WW1 My dryer drys fine it just doesnt shut off for a long time, well after cloths are dry and it still says damp on the controls. it tends to run for 2-3 hrs and if i use the 60 min timed cycle its not long enough to dry cloths. Not sure what parts bad?
1 Answer Hello Kevin. Try cleaning the sensor bars in the unit. If the issue continues, you will need to test the thermistor and make sure the venting is good in the unit. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
Patricia December 16, 2015 for Model Number WED97HEXW1 Now that we have established what "E2" is, please explain what F6 is. The codes are connected on the dryer troubleshoot screen. I am wondering if an additional part may be required.(F6E2)??
1 Answer Hello Patricia. Communication Error CCU to UI. Communication between the CCU and UI has not been detected. • Check the harnres continuity and connections between the CCU and UI. • Check AC and DC supplies. • Replace the User Interface. • Replace the CCU. Read More...
1 Answer Hello Rich, I'm sorry but we need the model number from the units' I.D. tag to look up the fault codes on your units' configuration. Thank you for your patience and understanding in this matter. Read More...
Jeremy December 05, 2015 for Model Number WED6200SW1 My Whirlpool dryer stopped using heat when drying. I have ordered and replaced the heating element from you guys. It still doesn't blow hot air. Its as cold as can be. Would it be the thermal cut off that needs to be replaced? Or what else could be wrong?
1 Answer Jeremy, You will want to check the continuity of the thermal fuse, high limit thermostat and the cycling thermostat on the unit to make sure that they are all good. If any do not have continuity then they are faulty and would need to be replaced. If these check ok There are 2 components other than the thermostats which would cause the heating element not to work. First is the motor and second the timer. The best option is to disconnect the power to the unit and access the heating element. Disconnect one wire that is going to the heating element, preferably the one on the thermostat side. Plug the unit back up and using a multimeter you will want to turn the dryer on and test for 120 vac at the terminal on the heater where the wire was disconnected. What this will do is eliminate the heater element itself and the motor. If there is 120 vac at this point then you know the heater is good and the motor is good because the other 120 vac coming through the thermostats is the timer side of the circuit. If there is not 120 vac at that point then you will want to test the other terminal on the heater and check for 120 vac. If there is not 120 vac then the motor would be bad and if there is 120 vac then the heater would be the issue. Read More...
John November 05, 2015 for Model Number 11097561601 Replaced thermistor on dryer still will not turn on and flashes code f1 and all the lights on dial flash. What else should I be looking for?
1 Answer John, The error code F1 is a primary control board failure and would require the control board to be replaced. The part number for the control board is WPW10111606. Read More...
Gregg October 16, 2015 for Model Number 11092826102 Kenmore elite HE3 gas dryer. Won't get clothes dry. Igniter works; glows and gas flame gets lit and burns. Flame won't stay on and actually it appears to stay on less time than before -only lasts 10 seconds (used to stay on for about 10 minutes when I first started messing with it). Same deal either timed or moisture sensed drying types. So I'm guessing it's not the moisture sensor. I already replaced the gas valve coils and the thermistor. So, I guess we're down to the high limit thermostat or the flame sensor?
1 Answer Hello Gregg, If replacing the coils on the gas valve did not correct this issue, the gas valve WP8318281 will have to be replaced. Read More...
Odie P. October 11, 2015 for Model Number DWSR483EG9CC Our GE Dryer has started cutting off before the dry cycle ends. The first time you start it will dry for about 20 minutes, then kick off. It will not start right back up, but can wait 15 min. & it will dry another 10 minutes, than back off. If you wait quite a while it might dry another 20 minutes, but max. I have cleaned the hose & vent. Is not stopped up. Timer does keep going until the cycle has finished, but dryer is not. What part do you think is needed or what could this be? Thanks for any help! I have determined to fix whatever it is, the top & back of dryer will have to be removed to take out the drum. cannot remove back.
1 Answer Hello Odie, This sounds like a ducting issue. The duct in the home has to have a full four inch inner diameter and cannot be longer than the equivalent of 25 feet, (including the fact that each 90° turn is equivalent to 6 feet of straight ducting). Also, flexible ducting is easily crushed. Remember that the incoming air is used to prevent overheating of the cabinets' components, mechanical and electrical. If the unit cannot blow out the hot air it cannot pull in room temperature air. If the home ducting is not the issue there could be a softener sheet in the blower wheel causing the lack of air flow. If there should happen to be sufficient air flow, there will be a mechanical issue such as a bad drum roller, worn glides, or failing belt idler pulley causing the motor to be overloaded and trip out the thermal overload protector in the motor assembly. Roy September 09, 2015 for Model Number feq1442eso Lights flash during cycle, then dryer failed to turn on at all. What could be causing this problem?
1 Answer Roy, While you would want to put the unit into a service diagnostic mode to see if there are any stored error codes, it sounds like the issue may be caused by a faulty control board. Read More...
Ed July 11, 2015 for Model Number gew9250pw0 Replaced thermistor and thermal cutoff kit. Vent clean. Replaced thermal fuse, after 1 run fuse was blown again. What are possible causes for fuse to keep blowing?
