Steve November 08, 2018 for Model Number FFIC3026TBA This glass cooktop is installed on a granite countertop. The edges of the glass are vulnerable to damage. I am looking for a U shaped rubber/silicone/vinyl strip that will fit on the approximately 1/8 inch thick glass. Any suggestions?

Jeff August 14, 2015 for Model Number RF368LXPQ0 I broke one of the trim pieces on the front of the oven door (white, #8523172) while attempting to reinstall the glass front. I ordered new trim and it should be delivered sometime today. I tried to reassemble the door with the door still on the range - I understand that there is an easier way to do this, by possibly taking the door off first. Is that true and if so, how can I do that? Thanks
1 Answer Hello Jeff. Yes, you need to remove the door. You will need to determine how to remove the door on the model number you are working on. If you open the door to the first stopping point, some oven doors will lift off the unit in this position. On other models, you will see clips on the back of the hinge toward the opening where the hinge enters the range. If yours is like this, you will open the door all the way open, then pull the clips down until they stop and lock in place. Then close the door to the stopping point and lift the door off the range. If you door does not lift off, and it does not have the clips, then you will open the door all the way open. You will see a hole in the hinge at the bottom of the door. You will insert a pin or nail into that hole and close the door to the stopping point. Then you can lift the door off the unit. Once the door is removed, you will lay it on a soft surface and disassemble the door. Pay attention and make notes if needed for reassembly of the oven door. Once you have replaced the door glass and trim, you will reinstall the oven door back onto the range in reverse order of the way you removed it. Read More...
Gayle June 07, 2015 for Model Number RF362LXST0 Hi we have this in bisque when moving in we went to clean from and the glass fell did not break we caught it but my question is the side trim is that suppose to hold the glass in or not the plastic sides were bent out like they were in incorrectly We thought maybe someone put the wrong glass in but if the trim goes under the glass the handle is all that hold the glass in place..
1 Answer Hello Gayle. No, the glass sits on top of the side trim. The top and bottom trim holds the glass in place. Read More...

Mary June 24, 2014 for Model Number RF368LXKT to clean between the glass, I took off the oven door handle, the side pieces came out of their holes and one is cracked so need to replace. Can't see my model number listed for my Whirlpool range so don't know what parts to order. The replacement parts listed require a screw at the bottom of the side pieces while mine simply fit into a hole. What parts can I order that will work with my range?
1 Answer Mary, The part number that you will need for the door trim on your unit will be a kit that has all 3 trim pieces in it. The part number is 8184860. Read More...
Cynthia November 18, 2013 for Model Number SF368LEPQ2 Is it possible to re-assemble the bottom and side door trim without removing the door.
1 Answer Cynthia, While it is possible to replace the side and bottom trim without removing the door, it would be a bigger task then it would be to take the door off the unit to replace. The reason for this is mainly due to the door glass. By leaving the door on there would be more of a risk to break the glass. You can easily remove the door by opening the door completely and using the door removal pin kit 814381. You could also use a nail or screwdriver and insert it into the hole on the hinges then close the door. Once the door stops against the stop then you would give a little push and lift out. Deb August 07, 2013 for Model Number RF368LXPT1 Stove is white and left side door trim broke when tenant opened the oven door. She says it is a solid piece of plastic that does not have any screw holes and slides on the side and underneath the handle. The side trim part I've located on your site for this model is AP3175202, however, the diagram indicates it screws in at the top and bottom. Is this the correct left side trim for this model and if not what is and if so, how does it reattach is the original side trim is solid plastic with no holes for screws to attach. Thank you.
1 Answer Deb, Yes this is the correct side trim WP8523172 for your unit. The way that it attaches is that there is a single screw at the bottom of the door that holds the trim in place. The top part slides under the top door trim. Read More...
Dave May 12, 2012 for Model Number RF364PXPQ2 Replaced the exterior oven door glass. Can't figure out how to put the side trim back. Is ther a picture?
1 Answer Dave, The APP parts diagram, is a pretty good facsimile, but here are the written instructions from the manual " 1. Turn off the electrical supply to the range. 2. Remove the oven door, and position it on a protected floor with the handle and outer door glass facing up. 3. Raise the top of the door and remove the two screws that secure the top of the door trim and the handle to the door liner, then remove the handle and top trim.4. Slide the outer door glass out of the bottom trim channel and install the new glass in its place. 5. Install the top trim and handle on the oven door and secure them in place with their two mounting screws. REASSEMBLY NOTE: The side trim on Whirlpool oven doors fits under the top edge of the outer door glass, and the side trim on Roper models fits over the top edge of the glass. Make sure that the trim is seated properly when you tighten the screws. 6. Reinstall the oven door on the range." Another note, if you purchased new side trim rails WP8523173 the screw holes in the new trim have been removed and replaced with "dowels" The dowels will be installed in the screw openings in the bottom trim rail WP8523178. Carolyn March 09, 2012 for Model Number rf361pxkq0 Hello. Just ordered two new trim parts for this ovens door. We took the door apart to clean the glass and while trying to reassemble we broke both of these side trim pieces drats!!!! We must be doing something wrong and I am hoping you can provide me with an instruction info to help us reassemble without braking anything again. Thanks. P.S. That glass is clean !
1 Answer Hi Carolyn. The left side trim is part # WP8523172. The rt. is part # WP8523166. Bottom trim is part # WP8523175. The side trim pieces will slide up into the top trim sides (not hanging out on each side). There are no instructions because the "green" movement only gives the service manual with instructions enough to repair the functional operation of the unit. The front glass is placed into the frame on all sides and you screw the bottom trim snug -as the top sides- of the trim is placed into the top trim piece. Then install the top screws and snug the top screws. Install the door handle screws w/ blue loctite part # F8283401. These do not over tighten as it will kink the glass and pull the top back. Outer Glass part # WP9762476 white. Thank You. Read More...
