  • The ice maker not producing ice or producing ice slowly
  • Reduced or inconsistent water flow from the water dispenser

Questions & Answers

For Whirlpool Water Inlet Valve (Part Number: OEM13363941)

Hello Virgillio, While the resistive readings are good electrically, this is no indication as to whether or not the valves are operational mechanically or not. This can only be determined by applying the proper voltage and water pressure and see if the valve opens and passes the water pressure and closes properly. Test meters are a great tool but they will not determine the mechanical operation of a component.

Sheldon for Model Number Mod: KSCS25INSS00; SER 3636303

Dear Ms./Sir.: I ordered a set of Inlet Valve for my KitchenAid refrigerator (Mod: KSCS25INSS00; SER 3636303) and watched your posted video on how to replace it. But when I opened the package, the part is not compatible for the existing fixture. I am attaching a few pictures I took to show the differences. My old one has an elevated bracket that clips into a slot on the edge of the fridge and also clears a drip pan at the bottom. The new part has two screw holes and is much shorter that cannot clear the drip pan. I'd like to return this order and call your hotline to figure out the right part to order. Thank you very much for your time and attention to this request.

Dennis, If the light on the wall is flashing with the flapper door open or closed and the hole on the flapper is not blocked and switch in the on position then the issue would be a bad emitter board. You will want to pull out the icemaker and check to motor module on the icemaker to make sure that there are no burn marks on the back of the module.

Hello Ashok, With the unit on and the ice maker filling, unplug the refrigerator. If the water continues to fill, the water pressure is to low or the water inlet valve is defective. If the water stops coming in, the issue is electrical which points to the contacts in the ice maker.

Hello Bob, Believe it or not, it's called a flipper WP2198633. It's job is to turn off the icemaker when the door is opened so ice doesn't harvest into the floor.

Hi Jim. Between the L and H the heater will read 72 ohms resistance. Between L and M the motor resistance will read 4400 ohms. Between the V and N the water valve coil is approx. 300 ohms. Use a insulated jumper wire to strip back and insert to the t and h terminals to start the harvest. Have the meter leads on the water valve to see if when the ice maker sends the 120 vac to the water valve you can observe it during the short 7- seconds. Observe the front ice maker dial (gear) indicator mark to pull out the wire at the 8:00 position. The ice maker will advance from there. Once it gets to the 4:00 position, it will send the water valve the 120 vac so it will open and send the water to the ice maker. Use a screwdriver to insert it from the inside into the fill tube to see if it is frozen shut. Bad water valve part # W10247725. If the ice maker stops or the does not send the voltage, it is part # 2198597. Thank You.
