Paul October 30, 2022 for Model Number KSCS25INSS00 I replaced the water inlet valve with part # AP4454644. Once installed and I plugged the electric cord back in and turned the water back on to the frig. Started getting water out of the front door water dispenser immediately. But after 4 hours I have noticed I still have no water filling up in the ice maker. The ice maker was working before I put the new water inlet valve on. What could be the issue with the ice maker?
1 Answer Paul, Thanks for the question. Based on the information provided I would start by checking the temperature at the ice maker. The ice maker will not call for water until it is below 10°F. Once the temperature is confirmed then check the fill tube for a frozen line as this could also be an issue. Read More...
Tom September 20, 2021 for Model Number kscs25INBL00 The water just kept pouring out of the ice maker into the bin. It appears the valve or whatever that turns off the water after the ice tray is full didn't shut off the water. Any ideas would be appreciated. I can buy a whole new icemaker if that would do the trick
1 Answer Tom, Based on the information provided and the model number provided the water inlet valve is our part number W10247725 and this does not come with the icemaker. Read More...
Darrell Darrpw July 18, 2020 for Model Number Kitchenaid KSCC25INSSOO Do you have a video for checking ice maker water use for freezing?
1 Answer Darrell, Unfortunately, there would be no video on checking to see if there is the proper amount of water getting into the icemaker. Read More...
Chris April 25, 2017 for Model Number KSCS25INSS01 I'm having trouble with my side-by-side water system. When I attempt to draw water to drink it comes out normally for a very brief short moment then trickles out slowly and I can hear a little humming sound. And my ice maker is no longer producing ice. I checked the water pressure by disconnecting the main line, it seems fine. It has a new water filter. I was going to replace the inlet valve but I don't want to spend the $100 without knowing for sure if that is the problem. Are there other things I can do to help diagnose the issue? I was considering leaving the unit unplugged for a while to see if maybe a line is frozen somewhere. Would that help? If so, how long would something like that take to thaw out. Appreciate any insight you can offer for this DIY-guy.
1 Answer Chris, Based on this information it sounds more likely that the filter housing would be what is causing this issue. This would cause both dispenser and icemaker to not work properly. The part number for the housing is WPW10121140. Read More...
Rich W October 23, 2016 for Model Number GC5SHAXVS00 I noticing a very small drip from the water dispenser. Water filter was changed about 7-8 months ago. Would the water inlet valve need replacement?
1 Answer Hello Rich. You can remove the water line from the water valve and see if the valve is dripping. If so, then you will need to replace the valve on the unit. Read More...
Merle B. August 20, 2016 for Model Number GC5SHEXNS03 The water keeps dripping on the water tap & the ice maker over flows from time to time making a big mess. it seem like the valves do not shut off completely, I took the valve off and it is clean of anything but it stills leaks from time to time.
1 Answer Hello Merle, This is most likely caused by low water pressure supplied to the unit. It can be a failing water valve, although it is unusual for both sides of the water vlave to fail at the same time. Read More...
Lee L March 06, 2016 for Model Number GC5SHEXNS5 How do you check to see if the ice maker fill line is frozen?
1 Answer Hello Lee. The best way is to take the hose loose from the water valve and blow air through it. If it is clear, it is not frozen. If it is blocked, it is frozen. Read More...
Bob November 18, 2015 The water feed line to my 10 year old side by side KitchenAid refer is making a intermittent noise. After pulling the refer out from the wall I can see the water line jumping around (apparently making the noise) when this intermittent activity occurs? My question is what is creating this?
1 Answer Hello Bob. It could be the filter head on the unit causing the noise or the water pressure coming into the unit. You will need to check both. Read More...
Paul April 09, 2014 for Model Number GC3JHAXTS01 What else besides the water inlet valve can stop water from getting into ice maker?
1 Answer Hello Paul. A bad ice maker or frozen fill tube will prevent it. Also, bad filter or bad emmiter boards in the unit. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/refrigerator-freezer-repair/29618-ice-maker-not-working-kitchenaid.html Read More...
Rich February 27, 2014 for Model Number KSBP25INSS03 I have a KitchenAid Refrigerator model KSBP25INSS03 and a persistent water drip from the water dispenser. Upon the technicians recommendation, I purchased the 8201815 connector / check valve kit and installed it below the freezer door (the flow arrow points toward the small line running into the door and is verified by the dispenser water flowing normally while the lever is depressed) which has not solved the problem. After dispensing water, the water at the end of the dispenser line is “vacuumed” up slightly as you can see an air bubble going back up the tube. However, the tube continues to drip a small drop every 3 to 5 minutes. I have flushed the system several times of 2 gallons of water using 5 seconds on, 5 seconds off to eliminate air in the lines as a possible contributing factor. My parts guide shows the water valve assembly is part 2315533, the reservoir is 2223876, and I can’t find the part number for the water line for the drink dispenser. On the AppliancePartsPros forum, a technician posted that the tech notes indicate replacing the reservoir with part 2305226 (if it needs replacement). If I do need to replace the reservoir, where is it located and do I need to add an additional check valve before or after the reservoir? There are no water or air leaks that I can see. The options for repair that I would guess would be the water valve, water dispenser line, water reservoir and / or an additional check valve. What do you recommend as a next step?
1 Answer Hello Rich. If the valve has not been replaced, that is where you should go to next. Try replacing the valve and see if that stops the drip in the unit. Read More...
