1 Answer Juno, with the burner valves seized up, they would need to be replaced. the left front, right rear, and right front valves are part number WPW10206288. The left rear valve would be part number WPW10206287. Read More...
Roy February 10, 2020 for Model Number MGT8775X501 I have a dual oven Maytag Gemini. Lower oven lights (since replacing igniters) but will only burn approx 8-10 seconds before going out. Broiler does not light. Surface burners work fine. I have replaced control board and two oven igniters. Could it be the gas valve? If not, what?
1 Answer Roy, the wiring will need to be inspected for any loose connections or brittle wires and repaired as necessary. If the wires check good, then the most likely failure would be in the gas valve WPW10518493 based on the information provided. Read More...
Chris July 29, 2019 for Model Number Maytag Gemini Depending on the humidity, I can catch a faint smell of gas. I have checked all of the connections with a leak detector, even replaced the flexible supply hose on the rear of the unit, it is normal. I also notice it more when they fill the stink bottle outside by the regulator.
1 Answer Chris, based on the information provided, it would seem like the gas smell is not coming from the appliance as it has been inspected with a leak detector and the hose has been replaced. The gas supply line may need to be inspected for possible loose connections. Read More...
Amrik May 13, 2019 for Model Number kithenaid KGRS505X double oven range My stove or the oven doesn't get gas. When I turn the burner on it clicks and makes sparks, but won't turn on. Same with ovens the igniter glows but burner wouldn't turn on. What do you think the problem is? Looks like it's not getting the gas.
1 Answer Amrik, you may want to test the safety valve at the black wire to ensure that the valve is receiving voltage when the cooktop assembly is turned on (the gas will need to be turned off before doing this). If the safety valve is receiving voltage, then the valve has failed. If it is not receiving voltage, then you will want to test connection P5 pin 7 to see if voltage is being sent out to the valve. If it is, then you have a bad wire. If it is not, then you have a bad control. Read More...
Clayton Wilson December 22, 2018 for Model Number Kitchenmaid KGRS505XSS0 Just installed correct igniter and now upper oven will broil normally but upper oven will not come on. No problem with lower oven Is this caused bay a bad gas valve
1 Answer Clayton, The gas valve WPW10518493 is possible, but not likely. First check the resistance of the igniter WPW10324738 it should range 85 to 100 ohms resistance at room temp. Then check for 120 VAC across the two wires to the igniter from the range control board. If the voltage and the resistance are in range and proper, then suspect the gas valve or wiring to be the issue. Read More...
Crafty One October 01, 2018 for Model Number MGT8885XS02 Lower oven will not maintain temp. I set it at 350 go back 20 minutes later, and it is at 185. I have calibrated it, replaced the igniter, temperature sensor and control board. It works for about two uses correctly, then begins to go back to not keeping temperature. Any suggestions?
1 Answer Crafty one, it sounds like the bi/metal in the safety valve is not opening and closing properly, I would recommend replcing the valve, part number is WPW10518493 Read More...
Dan September 20, 2018 for Model Number MGT8775XS01 I have a burner valve that is hard to turn and won't shut off completely. What all do I need to replace. This is on a maytag geminii range.
1 Answer Dan , For this issue you would need to replace the burner valve for the burner in question. Read More...
Mike October 02, 2016 for Model Number GGG388LXS01 No gas to super or lower. Gas man said bad regulator. Do need to replace the whole gas valve system.
Ed C. July 03, 2016 for Model Number MGT8885XS01 Bottom burner doesn't heat. Glow element turns on but no gas turns on. Upper oven works, top burners on range work. Is Gas Valve the problem?
1 Answer Ed, The gas valve is not the likely issue. You most likely have a weak glow bar igniter WPW10324738. The igniter has to produce 3.2 to 3.6 amps when it glows to open the gas valve and ignite. If the igniter glows, but it has a orange or dull red color, it is not producing enough amperage to open the valve, it needs to glow " white hot" / very bright. If you have access to a "clamp on" ammeter you can clip it around one of the igniter wires and observe the amp draw when the igniter glows. Read More...
