Ron April 20, 2024 for Model Number MVWC7ESWW0 The washer fills only to the level where it "thinks" it should be. In order to get a fill to the top the wife just lift the lid and the fill would resume until it was at the higher level she desired. That option is no longer working. Is it the Temp Control, Inlet valve, or some other switch?
1 Answer Ron, if the lid is being lifted up and then set back down to get it to fill, the failure would likely be in the temperature switch WPW10248240. This would be based on the lid switch cutting power to the washer, resetting the control in the temperature switch, and then sending voltage back through once the lid switch is closed. Read More...
Ray October 07, 2022 for Model Number MVWC6ESWW1 Hi, My Maytag Centennial washer fills, washes and drains. It takes an inordinate amount of time to refill for the rinse. I replaced the water level temp control switch W10248240, no improvement. Thank you
1 Answer Hello Ray, Since the rinse cycle fills with only cold water there is either a stopped-up screen to the cold valve or the cold valve WPW10175893 is failing to open fully indicating the need for replacement. Read More...
Lynn September 04, 2019 for Model Number wtw57evwo when the cycle knob is pulled to start the cycle the washer will start to adjitate before it has water in it. replaced the atc switch and did not correct the problem. Will the atc sensor cause this issue
Jeremy February 17, 2016 for Model Number MVWC700VW0 The washer will not fill. It will drain / spin just fine. I tested the voltage from the connectors that come from the washer to the fill valves, they both read 120 VAC, so I know the valves are getting power. What should the resistance on the valves be? Also, how much resistance should the thermistor at the bottom of the inlet valve.be reading at room temp. Thank you.
1 Answer Jeremy, We do not have the resistance of the valves but if they are getting power to them and the unit is not filling then the issue will be a water valve that will need to be replaced. Read More...
Charles January 28, 2016 for Model Number MVWC6ESWW1 The washer will go into spin cycle and that's it. It will not fill, is it the inlet fill valve?
1 Answer Hello Charles. You will need to check the temperature switch WPW10248240 and see if it is bad and will need to be replaced on the unit. Read More...
Daniel November 05, 2015 for Model Number 11029822801 HI, my questions is my washer doesn't give in water, if I turn the knob to spin it does come on, but theres no water. I check the water valve and it has .780 ohms I put the power to it and I can hear it click, could it be my timer?? or What else?? Thanks .
1 Answer Daniel, You will want to test for power getting to the water valve when it is set to wash. If there is power to the valve then the issue will be a bad valve. If there is no power then the timer would most likely be the issue. Read More...
John November 22, 2014 for Model Number MVWC6ESWW1 My washer will not spin in either the rinse or the spin cycle, unless I set it on delicate and lift the lid numerous times. It will then catch. Once it catches I can then turn it to the spin cycle I want and it will spin. The washer agitates fine. I have replaced the clutch, sensor switch, and timer. I cannot find how to test the control board, and I am lost after that.
1 Answer Hello John. It sounds like either the drive tube or the transmission is bad. You can check the tube for score marks and make sure the drive block is good. If all of that is good, replace the transmission. Read More...
Gary September 15, 2014 for Model Number MVWC700VW0 How do I test water fill valve solenoid? How do you test black part of water fill both hot and cold solenoid.
1 Answer Gary, When you start the cycle of the unit, to test the valve you would need to check for 120 vac at the connection of the water valve. Depending on what you have the temperature set for will determine which valve will be open. The black part of the water valve is the thermistor in which you will check it for resistance. Read More...
Rudy P. May 13, 2014 for Model Number mvwc6esww1 How to take the top assembly off to remove water inlet valve?
1 Answer Rudy, you do not remove the top, you have to remove the lower cabinet. 1. Unplug washer or disconnect power. 2. Slide a putty knife under the right or left corner of the control panel. Lift the corner of the panel and push back on the knife blade to release the clip. Repeat the procedure for the other clip. 3. Rotate the control panel so that the components face the front. Remove the control panel and position it back out of the way. 4. Disconnect the main harness connector from the lid switch connector. 5. Use a screwdriver and unclip the left and right cabinet spring clips from the cabinet. 6. Rotate the cabinet forward so you can access the top of the tub top. To remove the water inlet/ATC sensor: a) Remove the hex-head mounting screw from the rear panel. b) Lift and remove the water inlet/ATC sensor from the rear panel.c) Loosen the clamp and disconnect the hose from the water inlet. d) Disconnect the cold and hot wire connectors from the water inlet solenoid terminals. e) Disconnect the wires from the ATC sensor terminals. Blaine July 09, 2013 for Model Number 110.29822800 My Kenmore washer won't fill up with water, but it will rinse if I turn it to rinse. We tested the water valve and it didn't read anything on the ohms tester. We also tested the sensor switch and nothing. Again we unplugged the one plug with the 2 wires and set the washer to a cycle and no luck. Please help me and do you know if I took it to a appliance store both of the parts do you think they can test them with out the whole washer.
1 Answer Blaine, You would want to test for voltage at the water valve when the unit is turned on and calling for water. If you test across the leads on each of the valves and see if you are getting 120 vac. If not then test at the ATC switch for 120 vac going into the switch on terminals W/R to white and going out on for the hot Tan/Red to white and cold yellow red to white. If there is 120 vac going in but nothing going out then the ATC switch is faulty and would need to be replaced. Read More...
