Harry January 05, 2014 for Model Number LAT8705AAE Why won't the cold water quit running into the machine?
1 Answer Hello Harry. If you can stop the water from entering the machine by turning off the timer or unplugging the unit, you will need to look for a bad pressure hose or replace the pressure switch. If the only way to shut off the water is at the shut off for the water hoses, you will need to replace the water valve in the unit. Read More...
Walter December 26, 2013 for Model Number Maytag Washer Model No. LAT5006AAE Hello. I cross-threaded the hot water hose on my water valve and messed up the threads so I need to replace the valve. In the meantime I assumed I could do cold water washes with no problem but when I do, water gushes out of the hot water intake. Does that mean the anti-siphon is not working?
1 Answer Hello Walter. No, this is common due to no hose being installed on the valve. It is suppose to do that if the hose is not installed on the hot valve. You will need the new water valve WP22001274 to use the unit. Read More...
Abe November 14, 2013 for Model Number LSG7804AAE My washing machine stopped filling up with water mid cycle. But it spins when I turn the timer. Is this a water valve problem.?
Willie October 01, 2013 for Model Number LAT9304AAE My husband changed the hoses on my machine and it stopped disbursing cold water. At first the tub would fill up with hot water only but now the water does not come on at all. We have double checked to make sure the hoses are connected correctly. We think the water value may be malfunctioning? Or could it be the control knob has stopped working?
1 Answer Hello Willie. You will need to replace the valve. Also, check the lid switch assembly and see if the fuse is bad. If so, replace it as well. Read More...
John August 27, 2013 for Model Number LAT8206AAE After our washer completes a cycle, cold water continues to drip slowly out of the spray head. Eventually, it will stop, but sometimes we'll have a half gallon accumulated before it stops. I've tried turning the water on & off, thinking it might be trash in the valve, but this doesn't seem to make a difference. AND, the machine is leaking where the shaft goes up into the tub, but not constantly, that is, the tub can be full of water, but it only leaks during certain times of the cycle, and it seems to leak only when we set the machine for SUPER loads. Do I need to replace the valves to stop the leaking? And, could the leak from the spray head be overfilling the tank during a wash? And causing the leak at the bottom of the tub?
Campbell P. August 05, 2013 for Model Number LAT8435AAE The washer will fill up with water when the water temperature switch is set to "Warm", but will not fill with any water when set to "Cold". I watched the repair video where one of your technicians replaced the water inlet valve, and this seemed to be identical to the type of repair I need to perform. I believe the problem is stemming from an issue with the solenoid. I just wanted to make sure I was purchasing the correct part prior to placing my order.
1 Answer Hello Campbell, You need to first remove the water supply hoses, one at a time so they don't get crossed, and check the screen in the water valve and check for a screen in the hose, (both ends). If no screens are stopped up and voltage is being supplied to the water valve, (cold side), when it is turned on and should be filling with cold water, the water valve will require replacement. If voltage is not being supplied to the valve, the water temperature switch is suspect. Read More...
Seth May 10, 2013 for Model Number LAT8406AAE Replacing water valve 22001274. I transferred the electrical plug to the new unit in the same position, but forgot which way the plug on the bottom goes. It has a white and blue wire. It can be installed in either direction, so I don't know if there is a polarity issue and I need to orient it one way or the other. Thank you
1 Answer Seth, No there is no polarity issue, so it really won't matter. Most servicers orient the wiring on the valve so the orange and blue wires are on the same terminals on both solenoids. Read More...
Douglas D May 04, 2013 for Model Number LAT9604AAE Problem with no hot water to the machine and not sure which part will be usable and or compatible? Model# LAT9604AAE Social# A0131184KM Matag Machine
1 Answer Hello Douglas. If the unit has power to the valve, and the screens are not clogged, and there is no water, you will need to order and replace the water valve on the unit. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
Angie W April 23, 2013 for Model Number LSE7806ACE The wash machine does everything perfect except it uses hot water for most cycles no matter if you set it at cold water or not. It will not switch from hot water to cold water by the switch. Does the water valve need replaced or is it the knob itself ?
1 Answer Angie, With the unit not putting cold water into the unit and only putting hot in then you will want to check your temperature control switch. The temp control is what sends the power to whichever setting you want it on. It sounds like a stuck contact in the switch 22001923. Read More...
Judy J. February 22, 2013 for Model Number LAT9704AAE Maytag washer Model #LAT974AAE will not begin wash cycle. No water going in. I filled and tried to start agitation cycle, no go.
